Harmony test uncertainty, for those who've had it

Hi, I'm 37 and anxiously seeking some advice or should I say answers from mums who've actually had the Harmony test and then gone on to have their baby, was your Harmony test correct ?
Posted on another site but had no answers on this. I really would like to know the outcome for these ladies only.
I had a 1 in 20 chance of DS from my nuchal scan n bloods screen. Harmony test now tells me I'm 1 in 10,000 so massive difference. Obviously I'm pleased but NHS hospital are not giving me any hope here. I know all about amnio.
Just want to enjoy my pregnancy now, so please help if you're a mum to a healthy non DS baby and your Harmony was correct.
Thanks in advance.

I know this thread is a little old. But I thought it would be good to add up to date detail on Harmony testing. My midwife recently informed me that some Queen Elizabeth trust hospitals are trialling the Harmony type testing from December 2018. I would ask your midwife if your hospital is included in this trial. It was too late for me, but it may save money for others. :-)

I am 41 and was anxious to know asap. If you are at high risk (age and/or family history) and you can afford to have this test, then I would encourage you to have it. The current cost at the Portland Hospital is £450. It's worth every penny. The price includes a scan and a full report and of course the Harmony blood tests. The staff were amazing! Also, the results are more accurate V.S NHS
Harmony Testing: False-Postive rate - less than 1 in 1,600
Please feel free to ask any questions.

Hi guys.

I had my 12 week scan the other day which showed I was 13+4 with and a fluid measurement of 7mm so I was referred to fetal medicine unit where they offered me a cvs which I couldn’t not go through with so was offered the harmony test which takes 2 weeks to come back. the original ratio they give me was 1:5. Today when they scanned me the fluid was measured at 5.6? My head is all over the place. Has any one else had these kind of measurements and gone on to have healthy baby’s. 2 weeks seems so long to wait 😩 x

Hello, my harmony test results were super quick. I had the test done on a Friday, by the following Thursday morning, I had a call to confirm the results.

Sorry, I am unable to comment on fluid measurements.

As easy as it sounds, I would relax. I spent my first trimester worrying way too much.
If you are really anxious and worried, push to get referred to a consultant.
Hugs.

Hi @Brunetti1

The NT measurement is only accurate until 14+1 as the fluid is then reabsorbed.

Hi
Have you heard of the Fetal Medicine centre in Harley street? They give incredibly accurate reading for the three month scan and offer the harmony test with a quicker turn around. Does cost around £400.

I had a scan with nhs and it came back as a high Nuchal fluid and the one I had at the Fetal Medicine centre came back as 1 in 3500 plus the harmony was a good result.

If u want any details let me know. I was in the same position as you and paid for tests private which were all reassuring. The NHS consultant I was referred to even said he would always take whatbthe Fetal Medicine centre says over the nhs.

Hiya I had the harmony test done at the queen Elizabeth hospital in their fetal medicine unit. Just waiting on the results is horrible and wondering if the fluid is so high how can the results come back any different xx

Brunetti1 · 23/11/2018 23:21

So harmony test results came back highly likely for downs... got to go in for the amino Monday Morning to once again confirm this. It’s not looking like things will change. Already under consultant care thank you for the replies. Xxx

I’m sorry to hear this. Thinking of you, try to keep your hopes up and keep us updated x x
