High bump - so uncomfortable - any relief available?

I am 30 weeks pregnant and seem to be carrying my little one really high. My bump feels so high and tight (like right under my boobs) - I really feel like I am going to pop! Breathing isn't easy either and the indigestion is pretty bad too. I have no idea how I will cope with this really high bump for another 10 weeks. I am hoping that the bump will drop down at some point to ease the pressure on my diaphragm but in the meantime has anyone any experience of this and tips for how to relieve it in the short term? Thanks.

No tips but just wanted to say I'm in exactly the same situation (also 30 weeks and struggling with breathing/heartburn). Nice to know I'm not the only one. Hopefully someone will be along soon with some wise words!

Wil not make you happy guys,
36 weeks and same as you.

Just matter of getting used to it, I guess or divert yourself with some other stuff.

I was the same, felt like baby was laid sideways. Now I'm 33 weeks and it has settled a little lower (although hasn't "dropped" as such yet). Unfortunately as baby has got bigger I'm still uncomfortable, just in a different way!

I found that lying down helped, although it isn't always practical.

I was the same and sorry to say it didn't really change, but the reward for it was a smaller bump so less stretch marks, easier to find clothes and much quicker return to original size! I think for me, because I struggled to eat, it also meant I didn't really put on too many pounds anywhere else either!

It doesn't feel worth it at the time, but looking back afterwards I'm glad she stayed high!

Don't know if there's any theory behind it, but I wondered if it was because I had an anterior placenta?

Do you have a gym ball? Sit on that at every opportunity and do rotations. Also on your knees and sort of drape yourself over it so your bump is hanging down, may not actually change the shape of your bump but will take a lot of the pressure off. Also try googling/youtube pregnancy yoga, that can be so helpful if you are feeling uncomfortable.

I totally empathise, I had it with mine and it was horrible. If it is any consolation he was so high up that even at 39 weeks he wasn't a tiny bit engaged.. A bit of gardening (lots of squatting) and fast driving over speed bumps quite fast (dh driving, not me!) sorted it out, waters broke and he arrived at 39 weeks Grin

Same here at 31 weeks, no advice just letting you know you're not alone and i feel your pain! :(

I felt like this right until the end as dd was breech so her head was up in my ribs, lying on my side eased the pressure or on all fours...obviously you cant do that all day Grin might help when you're at home though. You have my sympathy it's so uncomfortable.

Thanks for your responses guys. Sounds like there is little that can be done. I have ordered a birthing ball though so will give that a go. My baby was also breech at my last appointment and I am convinced that the head is high up in my ribs so that may well be contributing....
