How are you feeling? I have just had a letter through confirming that I will be working as a poll clerk at the general election on 7 may. All being well I will be 10 weeks pg. It will be a really long day (leave house at 6am, get home after 11pm), I could really do with the cash but not sure if I will be able to handle such a long day.

This is my second pregnancy but I can't remember what I felt like at 10 weeks, should the worst of the tiredness be over by then?

I am ten weeks pregnant and still pretty shattered but if I can get a little nap in the middle of the afternoon, doesn't have to be for longer than an hour I'm fine til late ish! I've just come back from my best friends hen do and I managed two 11:30 nights! Just had a nap at around 3pm... Any chance you can take a break for an hour? Even if it's just in the car outside?

SnozzberryPie · 30/03/2015 16:45

Oh dear, no there's not really much chance for a break, it's usually a case of shoving down some sandwiches in the kitchen, we're not supposed to go off site.

Might this be a good chat thread for you to join? www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/2334596-November-2015-Knicker-Checkers-POAS-addiction-and-lots-of-support

I'm afraid I was pretty dormant during the first trimester each time (bed by 8) but I was working full days. I'd probably have been able to push through for a one-off (especially if ai needed the cash), and perhaps it would help if you try not to arrange to much at around the same time.

ExcitedA3 · 30/03/2015 16:54

Maybe if you are sat down rather than standing and moving around it might be less tiring? I'm not sure! Sorry can't be more of a help!

MorgansMummy24 · 30/03/2015 16:54

I'm 10 weeks today and for the past week have started to feel a little better (sickness has worn off) boobs still very sore and still feel ever so shattered unfortunately but I am managing without a day time nap now :)

SnozzberryPie · 30/03/2015 17:09

Thanks all, auntiestella I've just joined that thread, don't know why I didn't think to ask on there.

I would be sitting down most of the time but interacting with lots of people and possibly long queues of people. I do enjoy it but it is always a tiring day when not pregnant.

I am 12+3 now and all the way through have been very that I have felt absolutely fine - no tiredness or nausea or any of that which is worrying me even though all was fine at 9 weeks scan! So for me being on my feet and busy all day at 10 weeks would have been fine but I am in the minority - from what I have read most people have been feeling like crap and would struggle.

SnozzberryPie · 30/03/2015 17:43

Thanks for all your responses. I didn't suffer much sickness last time but do remember being v v tired at times, I just couldn't remember if it was mostly passed by then.

Maybe I had better give it a miss Sad

First pregnancy I felt fine at 10 weeks. This one I felt absolutely horrific, exhausted, sick... Impossible to tell im afraid!

Pigriver · 30/03/2015 18:01

I was asleep by 6pm at 10 weeks...only marginally better now at 17 weeks!

Ladypug · 30/03/2015 18:53

I'm 10 weeks and I'm pretty exhausted. Last night I couldn't sleep at all though and today had a full on day at work, only just stopped at 7pm and feel like utter crap (probably wouldn't want a day like this on little sleep again!)

crazycatlady82 · 30/03/2015 19:10

I think I am a bit weird at 10 weeks I was more tired than at 9 and this week, 11, seems worse still?!?!

Not sure what's going on!

I actually went to bed at 5.30pm on Tuesday, woke up for an hour at 6.30pm and then slept until 7.30am!!! And no, I'm not iron deficient - I did think I could be...

xx

allotherusernamesaretaken · 30/03/2015 23:35

Best of luck! It isn't the best time as I remember it. I was away on an important work offsite where I was meant to be presenting and I ended up throwing my presentation and spending the day with my head down the loo Confused

nellorr · 31/03/2015 08:23

Everyone is different and there's no way of predicting!
But just to scare you, I'm 10 + 4 and have had the worst 4 days so far!! Constant headache, vomiting, fatigue, spotty skin and I even developed a crusty nipple a couple of nights ago (TMI)... It's been magical ??.

I do hope you're ok and get to earn some pennies.

poocatcherchampion · 31/03/2015 08:27

For me the problem would be if no one else knew. I'm only 6 weeks but was at an all day event yesterday and I couldn't eat as much as I wanted without arousibg suspicion and I nearly collapsed on the train and had to buy a British rail sandwich

But I'd say you would be fine. You do what you do don't you.

scatterbrainedlass · 31/03/2015 09:12

I'm 10 tomorrow, and don't feel too bad. Some nausea, but as long as I can eat/snack frequently I'm fine. I can usually get through the day without being too knackered, but as soon as I sit down with my tea, that's it, I don't want to move again!

The main thing I'd be worried about is planning ahead so far. I don't always know how I'll feel day-to-day, never mind a couple of weeks ahead!! As pp also mentioned, if no-one else knows, you could struggle with dealing with your symptoms without arousing suspicion. Good luck with whatever you choose to do :)

SnozzberryPie · 31/03/2015 21:30

Thanks for the replies. I can probably tell the people I'm working with that I'm pregnant as they aren't my normal employer or people I know socially so I can't see the harm, and it would mean someone else can put up the poll booths which are quite heavy. I still can't decide what to do so I'm going to leave it a week and see if I start to get any morning sickness symptoms.
