Think we might have seen the sex of baby at 20 week scan

I went for a 20 week scan today for my third pregnancy. This scan seemed much clearer than with the other two babies and the baby obliged by clearly opening its legs. I was sure I saw 'boy bits' quite clearly about 4 different times. When we got out my husband said he'd seen it too.
The policy at our hospital is not to tell the sex and I like not to know as it adds to the excitement of labour. Feel a bit disappointed that we saw this - is there a chance we could be wrong? I would imagine it would be more difficult to be wrong about a boy than the other way round, IYSWIM.

Actually I think the cues from the sonographer may well be more accurate than what we think we've seen on the scan! Mog did your scanner give the game away?

My sonographer said, "Do you wnat to know what sex it is" we said no. So she said, "I'd better move away quickly then". Does that mean it's a boy does anyone think? Am driving self made trying to guess!

I read that girls' bits look like three lines on a scan. Just wondered if she thought we may be able to see a willy. Easier for us to recognise than "three lines", iykwim!

God, wish I'd found out now!

Froot, did you see for yourself or were you told by the sonographer to expect a boy?

Well, I couldn't see a thing, but we wanted to know and the sonographer asked so she said boy and then 'drew' a bright green outline of light around his willy. I would NEVER have recognised it in a million years without her outline. I do remember thinking 'Oh, no privacy ANYWHERE nowadays'! All I'm saying is, I would not have recognised it as 'boy bits' so I suspect you may have been mistaken or looking at something else. Could still be a boy though - if you are lucky (proud mother on son talking)

The reason I feel sure is because it was so recognisable as a willy and without discussing it at the time my husband had also seen it. I know what you're saying, aloha,as my previous two pregnancy scans were not clear at all. But this one was like having the baby in the room.

But you've all given me enough of a doubt to make the birth process exciting again Thank you.
