Apron tummy and bump

I have an overhang as a result of a c section with my previous pregnancy. Now with this one, I am 12/13 weeks and am starting to get a bump. Sometimes a I feel a sort of pressure at the bottom of my bump by the overhang if you get what I mean. It might be ligaments moving about, but it feels funny.

I know this sounds silly, but I have this fear that somehow my bump will be weighed down as it gets bigger. Does anyone have any experience of having a prominent apron tummy and a new pregnancy.

Or does the bump just grow as normal, but with the overhang at the bottom of the bump as normal?

The overhang fills out but you might find that you carry a lot lower. I am on my 4th pregnancy, all big babies and all sections so the overhang was large, I have found that the only comfy maternity trousers for me are the over the bump ones.

That's good to know, thanks. I did wonder if maybe I'd at some point need some sort of support band, but probably getting way ahead of myself! Just remember how huge I was before. Thanks again.

Oh, and did you rate any particular maternity trousers? I have jeans from H&M, but the bump part is already too tight. Think I'll invest in a few pairs of decent leggings.

I wear a lot of next maternity trousers, they tend to size large which always makes me happy that I can still get my arse into a size 12 :)

Yep I had a prominent overhang, now at 34 weeks it has just all stretched out. It is interesting what you said about carrying low, cathpip, as I definitely am carrying lower than last time.
I did get some stretching pains around 12 weeks and again recently but not bad.
Second over the bump trousers. My mum found me some really comfy ones off Amazon. Not in anyway attractive Smile but practical!

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I carried high and had a hard bump at the top but the bottom hung down. It got worse as I got bigger too. It was my first pregancy too. It wasn't noticable in clothes but it was flabby to The touch

Yes, that's just what it feels like, stretching pains, but not too painful.

I don't mind how the bump looks from a physical sense, it was more how it will feel, and is it anymore uncomfortable if you are carrying so low with a heavy bump. I just picture being weighed down a bit.

I already find that I have to fold everything over, like leggings, or even my knickers or they start to dig into the fold. Sorry if that's not a very nice image! I think some good supportive over the bump clothing will help. I haven't bought much maternity wear yet.

I'm afraid to say I am definitely more uncomfortable this time but they say that every pregnancy is different so might be nothing to do with prev c section. I also found that the baby felt less likely to 'drop out' after 25 weeks after everything moved up. Of course then you can't breathe and have indigestion....Smile
Clothes are tricky to get right until your bump is bigger.
