I've been really struggling without my antihistamines but this week has seen me look like I've had an argument with a rape seed field.

Having tried to research online and found nothing suitable for the upduffed I walked into my chemist sure of defeat but instead was told Prevalin nasal spray would see me right.

I have the magic bottle in my hand ready to inseminate my nose - anyone else used it?

I'm immune to loratidine wails

Mental I know... but in saying that I aint tried it for such a long time. Maybe my body will have forgotten it used to have a very cosy relationship with it.

Thanks for the tip!

I take Zyrtec, which is cetirizine. I did in my last pregnancy, too, and DD is fine (unless it causes unusual stubbornness or picky eating in toddlers). Of course, ask your doctor or midwife first, but mine was fine with it.

There's a difference between antihistamines and decongestants. Make sure you're not taking the version of the antihistamine that also has a decongestant (those are usually called something like Claritin D or Zyrtec D here in the US). That's probably riskier, especially if you're taking it every day for an extended period of time or if you have high blood pressure.

Have also been taking Cetirizine since 16 weeks (39 and 5 now). I discussed it with my consultant and he was quite happy for me to take it. As said, avoid decongestants but some antihistamines are fine, and can be used as anti emetics also. Nasal sprays tend to be fine also as very little gets into the blood stream.

Talk to your HCP but don't feel you must live in misery.
