I'm 22 weeks, been happening for about a week but today was worst it's been, only walked to school run. It feels like a stitch but higher up in bump (in line with belly button but more to side) pain eases once I sit down, any ideas what it is? thank you in advance :)

I sometimes get this I'm not sure when mine started but I'm 32 weeks now I think its the muscle s stretching around that area as ur uterus moves up or something if your worried I would speak to you midwife when your due to see her or give her a call for peace of mind
Xx

Thank you, the baby is active and pain does ease when I sit down so was hoping it was just ligament/stretching pains.
This pregnancy malarkey is hard work ha ha x

I had this around 25 weeks and it turned into SPD. Fx for you that it's just stretching tummy muscles but if you get any pain in your pelvis - pubic bone or around your leg sockets - get referred to a physio because you really want to nip SPD in the bud. Flowers

I had this from about 21 weeks onwards. I call it a bump stitch. Pain stops when I stop walking. I still get it now around 28 weeks, but not as frequently. I do have SPD so may be related to that? I think it is just everything stretching. I do find its worse if I have drunk / eaten before walking, just as you would with a normal stitch.

Thank you, I just had a physio appointment as I have a weak back, wasnt going to mention bump pain until I saw your post as assumed it wasn't connected. She has gave me some exercises to do, a tubigrip thing to wear through day and I took a belt with me she said to use for walking and standing. Said its mild spd so hopefully I can prevent it getting too bad x

I got given a support belt by my cousin which really seems to help with this. It is also roughly the least sexy thing I've ever worn, including the time I dressed up as Lister from Red Dwarf, mind.
