Feeling so sick

But not actually being sick!
Have felt like it for about 5 days now, am having about 12 hours sleep every night and it hasn't helped! HmmHmmHmm

Any advice to perk me up during the day when I am teaching?

Same here Sad how far along are you? I'm 6+3 and I've been feeling that way for 3 or 4 days now and I'm hoping it's not leading up to actually being sick.

Fizzy flavoured water and eating little and often are the only things getting me through right now.

Hope it clears up for you soon

Sorry ladies, but nothing really helps. I had hyperemesis for 13 weeks and trust me, fuck all helped me!
The old wives tales are a load of shit and anyone who tells u "try a ginger biscuit", tell them to fuck off. Sorry if I'm sounding so negative but don't want to say this or that helps when it really doesn't. Only time will help I'm afraid. Fingers crossed you dont end up with hyperemesis. Take care and good luck xxx

NewMrsX I am 7 weeks tomorrow.

I can only drink water and eat really dry food at the moment. It's so difficult standing in front of a class all day when all I want to do is go to back to bed!

I didn't think the ginger biscuits would work :(

Haha. weelamb I promise I'm not stalking you, just hovering in the 'pregnancy sucks' type threads. That just made me laugh!

I have a dear friend at the moment who keeps asking, "have I tried ginger?" Like it's some fucking medical elixir of the gods and although I love her to pieces it's taking all my will power not to shove a full packet of ginger nuts down her throat! I was hospitalized with HG with my first and went straight to the GP the second I started being sick this time round but still feel awful!

OP it's miserable and you have my full sympathy. All I can suggest is speaking to your GP as antiemetics can make a difference. I'm not sure how readily they prescribe them just for nausea though. Confused

Hope you feel better soon!

I am 14 weeks and still being sick, I find that a plain biscuit and mints in the morning helps, and only drinking flat coke and water helps my stomach stay farm

Rh1annon · 19/03/2015 18:09

Also tea with honey in rather then sugar helps to :)

juneau · 19/03/2015 18:12

I felt like this with both my pregnancies until about 12 weeks-ish. I nibbled on things like teacakes and fruit scones, which seemed to help a bit. Anything bland and carby was good (although not for my waistline!)

MorgansMummy24 · 19/03/2015 18:14

Weelamb is right, I've had constant nausea for 3 weeks now and I'm 8+2. I'm literally getting angry with it now and sick of trying things that don't help! The travel sickness wristbands help me for about an hour at the most and I find that chewing spearmint gum helps as I seem to get a vile taste in my mouth. I'd actually rather be sick at this point as I feel like im on a boat constantly Sad my mum had absolutely no sickness during her pregnancy Envy I'm so jealous lol

MorgansMummy24 · 19/03/2015 18:17

Also stick to foods that are easy to digest as I find certain things just sit on your stomach for hours (digestive system slows down during pregnancy to allow the baby to grab all the nutrients)

GlitzAndGigglesx · 19/03/2015 18:17

I know some avoid fizzy drinks but I honestly found a cold sprite helped cut down the sick feeling for me. It should stop or at least calm down after the first trimester

NeuroticFox1 · 19/03/2015 19:52

I found things that worked one day made me feel more sick another! But yes lemonade or sprite seemed pretty good, eating little and often, and plain stuff like pasta was generally more manageable. I did notice that having simple breakfast like belvita and glass of water then cup of tea about an hour later seemed to make me feel better but it's all a bit random.

pregnancy sickness support

iliketeaalot · 19/03/2015 20:04

I'm 9+1 and I've been alternating between wholemeal toast and belvita biscuits. I've also found orange juice in the morning works too which is weird as when I was pregnant with ds, it made me feel soooo much worse!

Kilicat · 19/03/2015 21:21

I think it's a case of trying a few different things and seeing what works for you. I'm also a teacher and found that satsumas helped - used to eat them that the front of my classroom when teaching. Got through one a lesson everyday for weeks. Thankfully I'm over the nauseous stage now!

reb2g08 · 20/03/2015 21:11

Thanks girls- I tried sprite today and that really, really helped.
Maybe I should get zero next week as I nearly drunk half a litre of it, all that sugar can't be good for babyBlushwoops...
