So ive got the dreaded piles!! Another symptom to add to the list. I haven't been constipated or anything but did have a bit of a dodgy tummy earlier in the week. It appears I have two piles one about the size of the tip of my little finger. Is this normal or quite big? Anyone else got or had them during pregnancy. And if so, what did you do to help get rid? I'm not really in any pain, just a little uncomfortable. Been using Anusol but not sure if there is something better? Also how did they affect you during labour? I'm 34 weeks and concerned they are just going to get worse Blush sorry for the detail, hope I'm not alone x

I find a cream with lidocaine gives best immediate relief - from memory the boots own brand. I would also try to ensure you drink as much water as possible to keep stools soft. There's not much else you can do really, but I will at least sympathise!

I'm 37 weeks and don't have them (yet!) But at antenatal class this week the midwife said you can use witch hazel on a compress or maybe some ice or frozen peas wrapped in kitchen roll on the effected area.
but ultimately, she advised us just to tell the midwife at your next midwife appointment, and they can just prescribe you something a lot stronger and more effective. Hope that is some help :)

I'm 38 weeks and over the last two weeks have had them horrendously purely from the weight of the baby. I have been in absolute agony- can't sit/ walk/ sleep without being in ridiculous pain - so much so I spent pretty much a week in tears and being beside myself.

I had two external ones- one prob the size of a grape and one a bit bigger so yours sound small in comparison.

I have stuff from drs called proctesydl or similar. Does help but only marginally. ( one of mine was thrombosed).

For me they are by far the worst symptom of late pregnancy. No idea how I going to get a baby out with them out my arse but it's common and normal. Just try and rest as much as you can so pressure is not on your digestive system ( lie down as much as u can).

I had them badly after my dd so petrified the state they'll be in after this one but they're isn't anything hat can be done really until after delivery. Try not to panic and use moist toilet roll, keep stools soft and good luck.

Thanks ladies. Oh no Cisforcat. You sound in pain. I'm concerned mine will get worse but will try and keep them at bay by following your advice. Good luck when the time comes :) xx
