How long did you experience morning sickness?

I had a miscarriage last year and six months later I'm pregnant again. Last time I had NO morning sickness at all and the miscarriage started in my 7th week. This time I was hit pretty hard with morning sickness and it actually made me feel more secure in the pregnancy. But the last couple of days I've had no morning sickness to speak of and it has me feeling very nervous. Today I'm at 8 weeks 5 days. No bleeding but I can't stop worrying. I know it sounds strange to actually WANT to be sick but it was so reassuring to know things were more normal this time around.

I know eventually morning sickness is supposed to go away but is 8-9 weeks too early? How long did morning sickness last for you?

Around 16 weeks. You're right though that it is strangely reassuring. I can remember feeling anxious when the sickness went and I wasn't showing or feeling anything that I was somehow not pregnant anymore.

I do however, hope you feel better sooner rather than later. Ice lollies seemed to help as did ginger biscuits.

My morning sickness kicked in this time around at 6 weeks, then disappeared at 8w5d. This, together with the loss of all other symptoms, triggered me asking for (and getting) an appointment at the local EPU. They were brilliant and all was fine ... and they reminded me that I'd had exactly the same thing at the same time when I was pregnant with DD (who is now nearly 4).

I can't remember what exactly happened last time, but I vague memories of the nausea returning from about 10-13 weeks. This time though it came back around 10 weeks and hasn't really gone away (I'm now 33 weeks) apart from a bit of respite around 18-21 weeks.

Fingers crossed all is ok with you x

I think it can come and go a bit. I would have the occasional day this time where it would fade a bit, just to come back the next day. Every time I freaked out as also had a miscarriage last time. It then really started to fade around 10.5 weeks, or so I thought, but came back in waves sometimes worse after that. Now nearly 16 weeks and the waves of nausea are becoming much less frequent.

So try not to worry. But it might be worth calling epu and asking for a scan if it'll help settle your mind given your previous experience ...

From 6 weeks to 14 weeks. Both times. Disappeared overnight around the 14wk mark. I was pretty ill and dehydrated both times. Vomiting about 8-10 times a day and unrelenting nausea. It was horrid but I was so pleased to be of I struggled through.

I only had 2 weeks of mild nausea (weeks 7-9) and the baby was all fine at the dating scan last week. My mum had two healthy pregnancies with little or no sickness too (this reassured me when I thought I wasn't feeling sick enough). Now I just feel lucky to have dodged that particular bullet.

I am 37+3 and I have been sick throughout but at times it comes and goes, sometimes a couple of weeks will pass with no sickness at all or just nausea and then out of the blue I start being sick again. I'm sure it's perfectly normal. hope everything goes well with your pregnancy.

I never had any, and had a very healthy baby.

Sorry for your loss. I could have written your post myself 3 months ago. I had 2 mcs last year with no morning sickness at all. With this pregnancy I had very strong nausea and felt rough as a dog from about 6 and a half to 8 weeks. itgot better quite suddenly from thenand I panicked this meant it had all gone wrong again. But good scans at 12 and 20 weeks tell me that everything was fine. I know its such a worrying time but hang in there and its far more likely everything is fine than that there is a problem. If it makes you feel less anxious you might want to look into getting a reassurance scan from 7 and a half weeks.
