24 weeks pregnant with id twins and for the last few days I've been getting some pain the bottom of my stomach (more of a dull ache) and shooting pains underneath which makes it hard for me to sometimes change position I'm sitting in or even get up. I've also noticed a lot of white runny drops of water in my knickers when I've gone to sit down to use the toilet. It isn't the usual discharge I'm used to (sorry about the Tmi) is this normal or not? Help please.

I had the pains and was told it was the muscles stretching and readjusting for support but no idea about the water.

Can you call your midwife to put your mind at ease?

That would make sense but I have no idea about the water either. Shes in the Doctor surgery today and I keep trying to phone them but engaged every time so wanted to see, in the meantime if anyone has had this.

I've had the water thing too... had it for a few weeks and sometimes I'm damp and smell funny (I can't decide what it smells like though, not wee and not the "sweet" smell I have heard that your waters smell like) so I've ignored it. But maybe I shouldn't...watching with interest.

I had something similar happen to discharge during my twin pregnancy. Can't remember exactly when but it must have been around the 22 week mark because I had a midwife appt. I started getting thin, watery discharge which didn't smell at all. I was wearing sanitary towels to soak it up. I mentioned it at the appointment and the midwife sent me up to the hospital to get checked for premature rupture of membranes. It wasn't, thankfully, and it kind of carried on like that until the end of the pregnancy (at 35 weeks when my waters really did go and it was a totally different feeling, like I had wet myself quite spectacularly). I'd speak to a MW if pos (do you have a 24hr midwife contact phone no?) and see what they say. There's no harm in asking/getting it checked out but hopefully it will be nothing untoward - good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and your twins!

That's what mine is like thin and watery but it doesn't smell at all. I couldn't get hold of a Dr y'day and the only number I have for the midwife is the one on my notes. I left a message y'day and no-one got back to me, so I'm still none the wiser. I'll try again today as I'm a bit concerned.

Hope you get through to someone today and can get some reassurance. It's a bit rubbish that no-one got back to you yesterday.
