36+2 and fainting in Starbucks

Hi,

I'm new around here but thought I would post and see if anyone had any similar experiences. I'm 36+2 with my first.

I've always had pretty low blood pressure but never fainted until I fell pregnant. I fainted at the doctors surgery at around 15 weeks and it was put down to a sudden drop in blood pressure. Every now and again since then I have suffered with lightheadedness, dizziness, sudden loss of hearing or vision as if I were about to faint however I have been able to sit down and take some deep breaths before I have passed out.

Neither my GP or Midwife seem concerned about this at all and put it down to my blood pressure as all other tests have come back negative.

Today I went into town to grab a few things and bumped into a friend who suggested a coffee break, waiting in line in Starbucks I started to feel lightheaded and before I could ask my friend to collect my drink and sit down I was in a heap on the floor.

I was only out for a few seconds and managed to get myself up and into a chair and felt fine. This was a few hours ago and I still feel fine, I've called the doctors who don't seem concerned and don't want to see me however DH is adament we should go to the hospital to be checked over. is he being over protective? anyone else suffered with low blood pressure fainting late on in pregnancy?

I fainted a few times in pregnancy. The only time I went to hospital following a faint was when I hit my head on the way down and lost consciousness. Otherwise I'd have a good sit down with tea and toast. It seems worse when it happens in public because people fuss and it's embarrassing.

Definitely embarrassing. The Barista was desperately trying to get me to agree to an ambulance which caused a crowd but I felt fine afterwards so flat out refused!

I think fainting is a reason to be concerned. I fainted one time from low blood pressure and not eating breakfast, not pregnant and doctors. were very concerned.

You dont know how you will fall and if you will hurt yourself or baby.

When I fainted I had to go to xrays of spine, brain, neurologist and they send me to this brain monitoring where they put electrodes on your head and track the brain activity.

Supposedly this was to eliminate epilepsy.
It was not in UK. I guess in UK they just tell you not to be concerned.
But really pls be careful where you fall, just sit immediately, lie down, put your legs up.

I fainted with my 1st son I was about 10-15 weeks pregnant at the time can't remember the right weeks as it was over 8 years ago but had to go to hospital as I hit my head on the bus shelter and cracked my eyebrow open the checked over me Iver as all I was doing is sleeping and gave me a scan as I wasn't sure if I hit my stomach. If you feel like you need to go get check I would if not just keep a eye on the movement off bump x
