Guessing he's male? The lying gives it away. They all lie like cheap watches I tell yea.

Trapper · 09/03/2015 19:30

(No practical advice to offer I'm afraid)

Only once further on I think. Risk is cord prolapse if waters break. If it happens get on all fours with bum in air and call ambulance!

You might want to speak to your midwife about this as some hospitals apparently will want to admit you until you go to labour if baby is transverse or oblique. This is due to the risk of cord prolapse but I can't think anyone would relish spending weeks and weeks on an antenatal ward. But it's still early days for you and he may well turn head down. Have a look at the Spinning Babies website for some tips on turning the baby.

Thanks for the replies! Really good to no! Will read up on spinning babies! Smile

Following with interest. I am 27 weeks and my little man is lying obliquely. I also have a low lying placenta which is apparently sometimes a good reason for an oblique lie. Have been told there is plenty of time for baby to move (and for parents to move up too if they are linked) - we'll see

Im the same, I have a complete covering placenta also. unless its moved since last scan I have scan in 3 weeks time hopefully it has! and hopefully has for you also! Smile xxx

I had my 20 week scan last week and my baby is and has been lifting this way since 12 weeks. The hospital has booked me 2 more scans to keep an eye on it xx

Zahrah5 · 10/03/2015 15:55

Im 33 weeks and was told she is oblique with head down but nit engaged.

Up to now she was transverse.

Midwife was not concerned but what I am reading here about the prolapse is quite scary and I am not sure if I want to know more.
But I guess the conclusion is if water breaks to call ambulance immediately?

Is oblique lie also indication for ECV and possible section?

Funkytown · 10/03/2015 15:58

i was 35 weeks when my little one was laying that way he was switching between breech footlong and oblique finally at 37 weeks and 5 days went head down.
they was going to admit me at 38 weeks with unstable lie thank god he moved
