Would the midwife induce me on the grounds of pure misery? Sad 40 weeks on friday. I think I'll go 2 weeks over. I haven't done a poo in 3 days, and I need to go. I am miserable, uncomfortable, grumpy and being a shit, snappy mum to my poor DS. I want this baby out, been crying on and off all day Sad

I realise I'm being dramatic, but as I said, due Friday!

Oh no! I remember the thread I think! It's where I had the sad realisation that the sum total of my life has been me becoming an expert in clogged up bums!Grin

Sorry to hear you are still suffering!

I'm pregnant with number 2 (no pun intended) now and I'm dreading the constipation phase! Shock

yougotafastcar · 09/03/2015 21:08

Oh, the shame that you actually remember it was my longest thread Blush it was all going well until this weekend anyway -so close, yet so far!

Congratulations Flowers get stocking up on Movicol now.

I should have shares in Movicol considering the amount I get through, pregnant or not!

Definitely mix it with squash, it's FOUL with plain water.

yougotafastcar · 09/03/2015 21:15

I have the lemon and lime flavour, is that the one you mix with squash?

OP posts:
seaoflove · 09/03/2015 21:21

Mine is orange flavour, but still disgusting so I add extra orange squash. I'm sure orange would mix pretty well with lemon and lime as well - just shut your eyes and pretend it's an exotic cocktail...

yougotafastcar · 09/03/2015 21:24

Will give it a go tomorrow, thanks

I hate to sound a miserable note but my constipation has always been worst in the month after the birth. That's when I really get to grips with the Movicol. Brace yourself...

yougotafastcar · 09/03/2015 21:33

Yeah I remember after DS, had stitches so was terrified of going too. Ahh the joys..

montyandmabel · 09/03/2015 21:43

Can you get Movicol on prescription? Or just over the counter?

yougotafastcar · 09/03/2015 21:48

You can get it prescribed

...& good luck Flowers

I was induced last week, I thought I was uncomfortable being overdue but induction was pretty unbearable to say the least as you're looking at 24 hours of artificial contractions with minimal pain relief before labour even begins. If you can go naturally it would be more gradual.

yougotafastcar · 10/03/2015 06:40

I was induced with DS, wasn't that bad. Had first pessary put in at 10am sunday, put on monitor for 30 mins and was having contractions but couldn't feel them all and weren't strong enough to be that painful. Was checked every 6 hours and then suddenly went from 3cm to 8cm in 30 minutes on monday! At least I know it'd be over soon, not possibly another 2 weeks!

Im still waiting too, due date ,well 1st one was yesterday. 4 of mine have been born within 4 days of this date youngest was 10 days late. Had a lot of stop start symptoms. Just need that final step closer and it should all be over in a few hours for me, or so I hope Smile could have another 2+ weeks by hospital date but don't think ill last that long!

ZombieZoo · 10/03/2015 16:11

Had a sweep at 2pm, we'll see

yougotafastcar · 10/03/2015 18:20

Good luck zombie

I'm still waiting for a poo, never mind a baby! Can barely get out of bed now, feel so ill & miserable Sad

Thanks. MW said I was 2cms dilated already. Is this positive, how likely will I labour from this sweep? Any experiences

yougotafastcar · 10/03/2015 20:08

Hate to say it, but my sweep on Friday came to nothing and midwife said I was 2cm too. She also said that after a first baby sometimes the cervix doesn't close properly so I guess that could be why I was 2cm already! Hope its different for you

ZombieZoo · 10/03/2015 20:15

Ah ok will expect nothing or try to.

ZombieZoo · 12/03/2015 00:09
