Just wondering if anyone would mind sharing any experiences? Can't help but feel red blood and cramping can't be good? Called out of hours Gp who said go to the epu tomorrow morning for a drop in appointment. I've miscarried before and feel this is the beginning of the end just wondered what people's experiences were? Many thanks for reading.

Hi there

I'm sorry you're hoing through this.

I've miscarried two at around this time and had cramping and bright red blood. It must be a real worry for you but it's one of those situations where there's nothing you can do but wait and see. I'm glad you've got a scan booked so won't be in the horrid limbo land for long.

Many women also bleed in early pregnancy and everything is fine.

I hope you get some answers tomorrow. X

Hi Goldie

Sorry you're going through this - the waiting is horrible but hopefully epu will see you tomorrow and, ideally, book you in for an early scan to see what's happening.

I had spotting in my current pregnancy every day between 6 - 9 weeks. Not very much, only when wiping and most of the time it was light brown or pink, although there were a couple of episodes of red. I also thought it was the beginning of the end a number of times as I miscarried my previous pregnancy at 11 weeks and that also started with spotting (though it turned heavy and into full blown pain within 48 hours).

Anyway, this time round they could see no reason for the spotting. Scans at 6+2 and 8+2 showed a heartbeat and I'm now 14 weeks and things seem to have settled down, touch wood. I also found out through this experience that a lot if women spot in early pregnancy without further complications.

I know it's horrible waiting to see what way it's going to go, but try to rest as much as possible and push for a scan with epu ... Good luck :)

Thank you both very much for your replies I'm sorry you've both been through mc.

Unfortunately the bleeding is getting heavier rather than stopping so think it should prepre for worst. Just wondered what did you tell work about early scans? I don't want my work to know I would like a baby as I have only been there 9 months.

I told my line manager early and she's been brilliant. I'd only been in my job for 5 months when I got pg with my current one (now 12 weeks). But I'd already broached the subject with her because IVF was a strong possibility and I wanted to be up front. But I have an amazing line manager and work in the public sector. I guess it depends on your feel for the work place you're in. You could just call in sick or say you were unwell over the weekend and your GP has referred you for tests today.

I'd just tell them you have a doctor's appointment or that you are sick - I think it's fair enough if you don't want them to know until you know what's going on. I'm able to work at home from time to time, so just did that and took an hour break to go to EPU. I've still not told my boss I'm pregnant and q nervous about it ... Luckily I've not seen him for over a month or he'd have noticed!

I hope you get on ok tomorrow - concentrate in doing what you need to do and looking after yourself and try not to worry about work.

I had quite heavy bleeding (like a period) with tremendous cramping (it woke me up) at around that stage, and all was well.

It sounds like it was just the placenta embedding :)

If you can see a heartbeat at 6 weeks it is a really good sign - 93% chance of a successful pregnancy or something...
