15 weeks pregnant and I have been tired since about week 7 but now I am officially drained and feel useless

Please tell me I'm not the only one or it gets better? I know my v. Low bp has an impact on fatigue but I've had that for 6+ years and never felt this bad. I don't function after 8pm anymore I cannot stay awake past then although to do have a very broken sleep.

I wouldn't mind but I get migraines when I'm tired too which write me off for two days. Normally have three migraines a week now it's 5-6 Angry

Anyone else just need to be a cat an sleep lots? Please tell me I'm not just a lazy cow.

You're definitely not a lazy cow! Pregnancy can be exhausting, I was exactly the same for the first few months of mine. I also had a lot of migraines. Not sure if it was due to bp, probably more to do with the amount of energy and nutrients that my body was taking in order to create the baby, placenta etc... Energy levels got a lot better around the 15 week mark for me. Then they dipped at the beginning of the third trimester. I am now 36+4 and they have picked up again although I do still have days where I feel like I've been hit by a train! Don't be hard on yourself and if you need to sleep then sleep. You'll be plenty busy when the little one arrives so just take this time to rest when you can (even if that means chilling on the sofa all day-chores can wait!) and put away from your mind that you should be doing X and Y. I try to remind myself that my body was doing the most important job in the world. That put everything else into perspective. Good luck and rest up!

I was the same. Did nothing but eat and sleep between 6 and 15 weeks, and i mean NOTHING. I remember trying to go out to the pub with friends and having to leave at 8pm because I just NEEDED to be asleep, and trying to cycle to work (I cycled to work every day before pregnancy) and having to stop and get off my bike to dry heave because it was so exhausting that I felt I was going to throw up from exertion.

The good news is that at around 16.5 weeks I suddenly got a burst of energy, and currently at 18 weeks I feel good again!

Thank you for the replies!

I don't feel so bad now, my sister is shocked how tired I am she's had twins triplets and another set of twins and didn't suffer with with being tired! I don't know how she coped!

Hope it does ease off soon could do with studying but I'm too tired to concentrate at the minute!

I was the same with both my DCs. The second was worse as I had a toddler to run after.

Right up until the day I had DC2, some days I could only manage standing for 20 minutes at a time. Even after just walking upstairs I had to sit down.

Mine was also due to my low BP and I was advised to rest as much as possible and sleep when I could.

So you are definitely not lazy - you are growing a baby which is a lot of work! Just take care of yourself and rest when you can. I hope it gets better for you.

I am asleep most nights by 7pm, DH has to settle the DC for me as I am asleep before their bedtimes. It's rubbish. Not much you can do about it, but rest when your body is telling you to. You are growing a baby! I have been like this since weeks 6/7 and I'm nearly 16 weeks now. It doesn't seem to be ending.

It's not laziness at all.
