I am 36 weeks pregnant and am sodding miserable.

I have spd which has been making me slightly down anyway as I'm physically restricted ( have been having physio since 8 weeks) so have been managing it as best as I can.

I've now just got piles (again) but this time a big purple angry thrombosed one. I am now super miserable, feel like I've been shot up the arsehole and can hardly move.
I've got prescription stuff but tbh it doesn't do a thing and I know there isn't much else that can be done. I'm now really worried about delivery as u have no idea how I'll get a baby out if it doesn't go due to the pain and my arsehole completely turning itself inside out. ( the were horrendous after my DD however with 2 hrs of pushing I'm not surprised but atleast I didn't have them when I went into labour ).

Can anyone give me a glimmer of hope? Sorry for glamourous post- it's not something I'll discuss in real life with anyone so only place I can !

Have you tried wrapping a bag of peas and sitting them on your rather troublesome but guest?? I feel for you ... as if we don't have enough dignity killing trials to endure ... try ice pack then cream once it's shrunk a bit ... then drink lots of warm water ... set an alarm if you must to remind you ... It will help ... !!

No advice unfortunately. As with most of the shite we have to deal with while pregnant you just have to get on with it. Pregnancy, especially this late stage, is foul.

Almost 36 weeks here and have had a dreadful cough for days. Just had a huge coughing fit, felt a strange popping/folding sensation and my belly button is now protruding. Feel like vomiting Confused

I feel your pain! I've shoved things up my arse, rubbed cream on them (prescription stuff) and nothing helps. Lost all dignity and still weeks to go. Nothing quite like bleeding from your itchy sore arse hole is there? It's made me afraid to shit.

I could barely walk the other day. Only thing that makes a diferences is when I'm in the bath but I can't stay in there all day, the second I'm out and they hurt again.

I have vulval varicose veins (now pg with number 3, but also had them with number 2). I was worried about labour, but as it turned out my second had a 4 minute pushing stage, as opposed to the best part of 2 hours the first time, so they resolved pretty quickly after birth. I had a water birth too and I'm sure it helped relieve the pressure (and meant I wasn't self conscious about them in labour).

I cannot believe how miserable these things make you! I'm sat here desperately trying not to burst into tears through the pain and have been lying in bed since 5.
My new 'friend' is getting bigger not smaller and so i am desperately hoping it goes away soon as walking, sitting, lying is agony.
Thelovecats I am sorry your suffering again- I take my hat off to you for having a third! This has put me off having any more alone!

I hope my labour is quick this time round and nothing like my first, which resulted in 2 hrs of pushing , a PPH and episiotomy ! Time will tell!

We thought another baby was a medical impossibility :D
I have PGP too, so I really do know how shit it is, I'm only 25 weeks this time and suffering. I had a PPH first time too, as a result of trauma and pushing for a long time. Second time was almost enjoyable in comparison! I lool forward to labour because it means I don't have to be pregnant any more :D

Sympathies.

Cold packs.
Elevate (no, really - bum in the air if you can. Or at least raise foot-end of bed up a bit)
Make really, really sure you are not contipated.

Sounds like you have thrombosed piles which is horrible, by the DO go away with time.
I hope delivery goes smoothly when the time comes.
Thanks

Cisforcat ... I feel your pain. I had both spd/pgp and piles in my last pregnancy (DS2); so far I've just got the spd this time, but i'm sure the piles are just a matter of time.

To hopefully reduce your concern, I had a home water birth, and surprisingly the piles didn't cause any issues last labour (DS2), despite having them before the birth (like you, i got them after DS1, but then i had 5 hours of pushing, so i' not at all surprised). Only thing was that DP was asked if he wanted to see the crowning baby and somehow thought that my piles were the baby's head.....

I really hope they reduce for you soon; labour issues or not, the pain isn't nice. I'm sure you know it all already, but just in case, do think about prune juice and other dried fruits which can help, 2 sachets of fybogel daily, and lactulose which you can get over the counter or on prescription from your gp; all of these will help soften your stools so you need to push less.... plus lots of water, of course...

Buttwing · 06/03/2015 22:02

I've had four babies and horrific piles with all of them. It maybe that they don't go completely until after the birth but there is something that does help with the pain. It sounds ridiculous but what you need is vagisil it contains lidocaine which is a numbing cream it might not cure them but it stops the pain. You can also ask the gp for lidocaine cream mine prescribed it for me and it was the only thing that gave me any relief.
You have my sympathy they are evil little bastards Grin

You have my sympathies OP...tmi but can you push them back in?that used to help me a bit...also second the frozen peas idea.

tobysmum77 · 07/03/2015 16:42

Sad you poor thing, piles are the utter pits.

In terms of the delivery though I doubt it will be a problem - labour pain will probably mean you don't feel it. Probably will be much worse after though, I'm not sure it's much to do with pushing its the pressure. Mine were awful after dd2 and I had an 8 minute second stage.
