Pelvic pain!

I'm 30 weeks pg and for the past week Iv had very sore pains around my pelvic area. Mostly in between my thighs at the top and on my pubic bone. I just ignored it at first as I thought it was just everything stretching but now it's impossible to ignore! Iv just got out of bed to go for a wee and fell straight to the floor because I honestly thought my pelvis was going to snap! The pain is getting so bad I can hardly turn over in bed, can hardly walk and can't stand for longer than ten minutes. Surely this can't be normal can it?? Any advice please ConfusedConfused

It sounds like SPD. See your midwife for help.

I have the same thing and im 22 weeks. Read up on spd. I have a physio appointment today. Dont suffer with it

I had spd and pelvic girdle pain in my third pregnancy and my god it took everything I had inside me just to walk up stairs. I ignored it, it was too late, I couldn't get physio for it. Don't do what I did. I used support vests and pants (terribly unsexy, like most things in pregnancy) and it did help. I didn't have it with my fourth (yay!) but recently, now I'm pregnant with number 5, I've been reading up on using kinesiology tape (strapping) to help with back and pelvic pain. When you see the midwife, ask her about it.

Get yourself to a women's health physio or osteopath as soon as you can. Ideally someone who comes recommended. If you can afford it, I would not wait for the NHS referral via the midwife. Firstly because it will take ages and secondly because my experience of the NHS physios was abysmal. They were completely useless.

Ask your midwife to refer you to a physiotherapist. I have spd and had it last pregnancy, it's horrendous. Keep as mobile as you can within your pain limits. The physio will give you tips on sleep positions (generally pillows between ankles and knees) and exercises to do. X
