Hi Ladies. I'm just wondering if anyone here is living in London and knows if there is a specific catchment or number of miles "rule" when it comes to what hospital you're allowed choose. I've been advised to go to UCH which is under 10 miles from me but am worried I will be denied this because there are other hospitals closer.

I'm at uch and from what I've been told it's not unusual for them to have people from outside London so it should be fine. I'm a twin pregnancy and due to move to Reading and the midwife said I could continue to be seen there and deliver there. Only thing to consider is how you'll get there in labour. That was what made me think I'll change hospitals when I move-the thought of trying to get along the M4 in labour or being in hospital post c-section when my DH and family aren't nearby wasn't a good thing.

Thanks for the advice. Hopefully they will let me. I wouldn't have had a preference (not from UK) but my partners mother advised that it's a fantastic place. Hopefully the traffic isn't too bad when the time comes!! ;)

What are your other options? There's an old thread on here from a couple of weeks or so ago from some one asking about UCH vs other north/east London options.
