Is a faint line positive?

I already have one dd whose nearly a year. dh and I have been trying since December, and I bought a load of those cheap ovulation and pg tests off amazon. anyway, been doing them every few days. tonight...I had a VERY VERY faint positive line. is this a positive or not? I showed dh but he doesn't think it's a positive. I always thought a line regardless of how strong it was, it's a positive.

Yep, a lines a line. Congrats!

It depends on whether you mean the ov test or the pg. If it's a pregnancy test then yes, but if it's the ov test, then no.

My faint line is due in July. Congratulations, a line is a line.

PunkrockerGirl · 02/03/2015 20:33

I had a very faint line with ds1. He's 23 now Wink

K8eee · 02/03/2015 20:39

Ah sorry yes the pg test. I've done on tests every few days for a month now but I never got a positive result Confused so I have no idea how it happened as I had a period a month ago and my god was it a period!!!

Oh yeah and dh doesn't believe it's right Envy

Then your line is a positive! Congratulations x

sianihedgehog · 02/03/2015 21:19

I had really faint lines on the cheapo tests off Amazon and MUCH clearer ones on the sainsbury's/boots/whatever tests. Faint positive is a positive!

If DH doesn't believe you, try a clearblue digital. No arguing with those!

hippymama1 · 02/03/2015 21:23

I agree with Siani on the Clearblue Digital... Can't argue with those badboys! They are a bit expensive though but worth it if you want a definitive result! Smile

K8eee · 02/03/2015 21:28

Yeah I invested in one of those when I fell pregnant with dd. I think I'll do another cheapy test in the morning and then see what dh says after that

Also, because I have the bladder of a thimble should I still just do my first morning pee even if I've peed in the night?

I've done a test this morning but it's negative Confused any suggestions?

I guess it depends how concentrated your wee was this morning, if very early pregnancy? Maybe it was a dodgy test? I'd try again tomorrow morning - I know this isn't much help (if you're like me, you want to know RIGHT NOWSmile) but I did have a week or so of is-it-or-isn't-it, before I got a definite line that I actually believed to be a positive not that I tested 20-odd times, no not me

Crownjewel · 03/03/2015 11:33

Sorry, also meant to say, best of luck and I really hope it's a nice strong positive in the morning for you Thanks

DayLillie · 03/03/2015 11:35

My faint positive was twins. It got clearer as it dried out.

sianihedgehog · 03/03/2015 15:35

I'd try a couple of cheap tests, and if you get any faint lines, get a clear blue digital to confirm.

K8eee · 03/03/2015 21:11

Hubby bless him went and bought a clear blue digital today. so tomorrow morning is d day.... so if I need a wee in the night should I test then or wait until my morning pee...?

Is be tempted to test both wees (with cheapie tests obviously, not with the cB digi!) then if one or both looks like a line, try the following morning with the digi. The digits aren't that sensitive (I think 50mlu) whereas the cheapies tend to be 20-25mlu so you've a better chance of getting an early positive with a cheapie. Good luck!

K8eee · 04/03/2015 07:31

Thanks! do I still need to phone my GP?

OP posts:
sianihedgehog · 04/03/2015 10:15

Congratulations!! Depending on your area (assuming you're in the UK) you may just be able to call up and go straight to the midwife rather than the GP. Ring your surgery and ask and they should help.
