Leggings (terribly important!)

I'm 14 weeks with my first and already in maternity jeans Blush but I've decided that what I really need are some really good, thick, black leggings that can pass as black work trousers. Never fear, I plan to wear longer tops with them so as not to offend!

I bought some Next maternity leggings but, quite frankly, they just don't cut the mustard. The material is ever so slightly thin around the thigh area (I refuse to court the notion that my thighs are the problem!)

So pregnant women of Mumsnet, give me your recommendations for really good, thick leggings that will last the course of this pregnancy.

jojo maman bebe did good leggings the other year, good colours too

I'd also like some recommendations. I bought some from New Look and whilst they're reasonably thick, they're baggy round the knees (and my knees aren't skinny!)

Topshop all the way. Their jeans are by far the best too, I had a pair of black skinny ones that were quite smart.

I have some jeggings from Asda, black ones, they fit like slightly looser skinny jeans, maybe tapered leg trousers and they are like £12. Not maternity but I reckon will do we a while and I am wearing as work trousers

M&S. Really thick. Sized quite generously too :)

Jojo Maman Bebe are really thick. I never where leggings but was happy to wear these when I was pregnant.

I've got as from Asos and I love them. I'm 29 weeks now and I've been wearing them two to three times a week since 14 weeks pregnant and they are still in great condition.

OttersPocket · 25/02/2015 20:49

Oooh, thanks everyone. I'm not a leggings wearer either but I think they might solve all of my bloated ishoos.

I will check out some of these suggestions and report back. Keep them coming though.

m&s were the best ones I found for pregnancy, big thick waist band so they don't roll down, over the bump new look ones were a bit thin, but very comfy for later on in pregnancy.
Sainsburys ones are good as well.

Next and New look leggings are awful. H&M are ok. I've heard good things about ASOS ones but haven't tried them. I'm currently wearing a pair of Topshop leggings that are left over from my last pregnancy so must be pretty hard wearing, they're thick too. Second the recommendation for Topshop maternity jeans, they're the only ones that have fit me half way decently. I like the skinny Baxter ones.

Would something like these work? I wear them and I love them.

Wineandchoccy · 25/02/2015 22:05

I ordered these and they are really thick unlike most leggings.

H&m are nice and thick but I'm quite short (5'3) and there was quite a bit of extra fabric, I managed ok with them though but are definately made for taller people.

Groovester · 25/02/2015 22:11

Sainsbury

Boden maternity. Nice and thick, over bump, size quite large/long so if you're borderline I'd go down a size. Not the cheapest but lasting well and material hasn't gone bobbly at all. Much better than seraphine ones I had last time.
