Anaphylaxis in pregnancy

I have anaphylaxis and carry an epi-pen. I'm almost 8 weeks and have had my first scan at 6w4d where we saw and heard a strong heartbeat. Next scan is in 10 days so I'll ask my doc then but I'm wondering if my allergies can be hereditary?

My parents and brother don't suffer from allergies. Mine are mostly caused by food but I have had reactions to certain medicines including a GA and after sitting on the grass or just inhaling freshly cut grass.

I am not allergic to nuts and have read mixed reviews on consuming peanuts during pregnancy. So far I've avoided eating peanuts and peanut butter but I wonder if it's better to consume them and therefore build some immunity for my little one?

Does anyone have any experience of this? Any advice would be much appreciated.

The most up to date advice is that you don't have yo avoid peanuts in pregnancy unless you are allergic to them

The advice changed in 2009 btw (to the advice that you can eat peanuts in pregnancy)

You can have small amounts of peanuts they're safe and it's believed to build up the babies immunity to a peanut allergy, although it may not cover them for life as you probably know you can develop an allergy at any time.

I am allergic to nuts, tomatoes and onions. Also carry an epi pen. All my siblings except 1 are also allergic although food allergies vary between us (all allergic to nuts) all of us only became allergic once we hit puberty. Have two daughters,
Dd1,10 isn't allergic to anything. Will eat nuts at her dads at ?eekend and no concerns.
Dd2, 6 won't attempt to eat anything with nuts or tomatoes as she says they hurt her tongue, we're just monitoring her. Never had a reaction other than saying tongue hurt.
When I was pregnant with dd2 I was allergic to melon, strawberries and cucumber which I can now eat again as can daughter. She also has excema. It's very weird. I'm not sure if there's anything you can do to avoid allergies, but I'll be interested to find out, now expecting dc3.
I'm hoping dd1 doesn't become allergic when she hits puberty. Wouldn't wish food allergies on anyone

I know Swanny, my episodes can be terrifying not only to me but to others witnessing, I would hate for my child to suffer also Sad

I've been allergic since birth. Hopefully none of your children will develop any severe reactions. I'll speak to my doc about it and if there are any updates I'll let you know!
