Have never been so so scared. Last night went to bed feeling that baby had not been as active as usual. Fell asleep and woke at 3am with baby in exactly the same position as when I fell asleep. Went downstairs drank ice cold water, layer on left side, poked/stroked belly, still nothing.

Into hospital after ringing triage. Feeling sick with worry. Strapped to monitor and heard the heartbeat, within 10 minutes baby was squirming and rolling around. Little monkey!!

Not really sure why I'm writing this! Just so relieved baby was ok. Iv never been so scared Sad

So glad you and baby are okay. I read the thread title and was getting ready to post "go to hospital now".

The midwives will have heard all our fears before, and when I went in with reduced movements they told me they would rather have a thousand false alarms than miss the baby that needs help.

Good luck with the birth x

You were right to get checked out. Glad baby is moving around again now. Totally normal for you to have been scared, and I hope you are feeling more reassured now. Not long to go Smile Flowers

I'd always advise anyone with similar concerns to go in and get checked, my DS stopped moving at 38wks and I stupidly waited most of the day as I didn't want to over-react, he was born by emergency section within a couple of hours of me going to hospital, turned out he was wrapped up in his umbilical cord and had run out of energy trying to free himself, and didn't have a good heart trace on the ctg monitor. He is 8.5yo and fine now Smile and my enduring memory of that day is collecting my hospital bag and filling up my windscreen washer tank before driving myself to hospital, as I knew I wasn't coming home without a baby - bizarre diversional tactics as I was afraid to go in Shock

I'm glad everything is ok! I had this in both my pregnancies, both boys were fine but it is really scary! I seem to produce lazy babies in the womb, but I wouldn't hesitate to get checked if I was pregnant again. absolutely the right thing to do!
Good luck for the birth (ds2 6 months old and I'm already broody again!!) Thanks

You did the best thing ever. I did this 3 times in my first pregnancy, better safe than sorry. In fact after my third time (38+6) they said if I was worried again they would start induction! It was like this crazy 'get out of pregnancy' card I had in my back pocket! 'Twas very tempting at times in that last week I can tell you! Obviously I would never really have pretended to have reduced movements just to be induced. But in those mad moments of desperation for labour to start it did enter my mind.

The relief is so wonderful and the midwives never made me feel bad for coming in. They were always happy to help.
