Sleep problems - anyone the same in third trimester?

I am 36 wks and having baby via C-sec at 39 wks so I know I don't have long to go.

I'm uncomfortable but not ridiculously so....but sleeping is a major issue!! Normally I go to bed at 10.30pm ish, then can't get to sleep until maybe midnight (but feel tired) then sleep until 4 if lucky then awake until say 5.30am then sleep again until 7am when I have to get up for my 3yr old daughter.

When I wake I am WIDE AWAkE and feel as if I can't stop moving! I've never had this before it's like my whole body is restless.

Does anyone have any advice / tips on anything that might help? Last pregnancy I did a lot of yoga and hypnosis which perhaps kept this at bay. I'm trying to do it again (not the yoga but the relaxation at least) but it's not working. My mind if seriously racing.

Has anyone got the same thing / any advice? I feel like my heart races v quickly and I can't keep my limbs still! Must be driving DH mad!!

Hi, 37+5 here, no advice but I am exactly the same. Fed up of sleeping for an hour then waking up to be wide awake for hours.

No advice either I'm afraid but you aren't alone. Third trimester insomnia alive and well here also!!

Yup, mind racing and not even my hypnobirthing recording is enough to calm me down/get me off to sleep again.

Yes, definitely me too... 38+2 now. Started off just occasionally but the last couple of weeks I've been awake for a few hours EVERY night and feel so exhausted during the day! Getting really worried that I'll be too tired for labour and will really struggle. Going to try religiously having daytime naps for the next few days to see whether that at least helps with that aspect, although can't imagine it will make me sleep any better at night... No advice I'm afraid, but lots of empathy!

Same here, 30 weeks and have always slept like a log until now. Waking at 4am religiously every night for absolutely no reason. I have found getting up and reading for a bit, then going back to bed rather than just lying there helps a bit but it's still frustrating! Think I need to get better at daytime naps too.

Ive hardly slept at all third trimester, will probably get twice the amount of sleep once baby is here than I do now. After 6weeks of very little /no sleep im struggling to function.

Well Shelley one thing I remember from lash time was fearing I would be the same when baby arrived ie waking to feed and then tossing and turning unable to sleep and I can hand on heart say that never once happened!! Yes ah first I used to wake easily (obviously on guard) but falling to sleep was super easy so at least we can hopefully look forward to that. Must all be hormonal changes I guess!
