How to change your NHS midwife?

I don't really like my midwife. She is attached to my surgery and I don't find her to be very warm. I also don't think she is taking some concerns I have very seriously.
At the baby show at the weekend I talked to a midwife attached to Mama tens and she suggested I ask to see someone else, although It might be embarrassing to do so. I wondered if anyone else had done this and how they went about it.
Thanks

peachy - in my surgery, theres often another midwife there helping the full time midwife. it started out that i had the regular surgery midwife first..she was lovely, made me feel completely at ease with her and we got on well. 2nd visit, i had a midwife that was there helping out...to cut a long story short, i didnt feel comfortable around her, she was very negative and didnt seem to really give 2 hoots. 3rd time, went to the surgery and almost had a 'fill in' midwife again, so me (and dh) said to her that we would rather wait for the regular midwife as i didnt like being passed from pillar to post and felt comfortable with her.

i think she got a little miffed that we didnt want to be seen by her, but they way we saw it was "tuff" you have the right to change your midwife if u dont feel comfortable with the one you have. I did, and i asked the regular midwife if it was ok that id asked to see her for my appointments and she was 100% fine with it.

hope that all goes well with changing (and the rest of the pregnancy) and dont worry, there wont be a problem with it
