I am pregnant, just. Period not due till Monday or maybe Wednesday. I am not so sure! A very strong pink line this morning. I tested now because my boobs have been so weird and I have big night out this weekend.

We are not planning on telling anybody until 12 weeks but I have two friends who will notice I am not drinking.

I know I can't drink and there is something about caffeine but what do I need to do.

Take pregnancy vitamins, cut back on caffeine, have a look at the list of foods you're 'not allowed' and the associated risks. Book in an appointment with MW (this happens at about 10 weeks)

Taking folic acid? Not much else to do now really. Leave it a couple of wks and then ring doctors who will get you set up with midwife. Usually 1st appointment around 10wk Mark. Many congratulations op, this is a very exciting time.. You'd be amazed how easy it would be if you wanted to make them think your drinking

Grin Congratulations firstly!
It may be different up (Scotland) here but I called my GP on the day I found out, she asked to see me, then referred me to a midwife the same week. That Midwife appointment last about 10 mins, they weighed me, took my blood pressure and gave me a prescription for folic acid and vitamins.... and a great big ruddy book called Ready Steady Baby (which is fab).
Cut down on your caffeine as little says, you can find advice on whats recommended during pregnancy on the NHS site.
I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy... welcome to the club!

Thank you. I am not sure about preventing to drink, most my friends would not notice but these two would and is one is pregnant herself she will be sober. I may have to be giving up alcohol for lent.

Your surgery will tell you if your gp has to see you first or if you can self refer to the midwives. Either way, they won't see you until at least 8 weeks unless you are high risk. First appointment takes at least an hour. Full medical history for you and the father, bloods, height, weight, lots of info. In the meantime, you only need to take folic acid and lists of food to avoid and general advice are on the NHS site.

Congrats!

I had to go to a wedding 2 days after I found out. I pretended to be on antibiotics and made a big deal about sipping a glass of champagne against medical advice. No-one noticed a thing!

Giving up alcohol for lent is going to be my cover this weekend!

Congratulations, have a look in the antenatal clubs to find support from people due in the same month
