I've been feeling really worse for wear lately, culminating in having abdominal pain (throbbing feeling) all around my lower belly, lower back pain and pain at the tops of my legs since last night.

This being as well as the daily MS and various other ailments, i'm only 13 weeks! I have had no time off work so far but feel like I need to make a visit to the doctors.

My question is this; our company policy would be to usually make time up. I really don't want to take time out and then have to use my lunch hour to make it back up (I need that break)!

Can they insist that I make the time up, does a doctors appointment count as antenatal? Can I request it unpaid?

So far my work hasnt asked for any proof that they were antenatal appointments apart from my matb1 form. However i did have to contact hr as my boss tried to put me on hols and was adament i wasnt entitled to paid time off- so was a bit of a hassle!

Yes work knows, had to tell at 8 weeks as my constant popping to toilets to bring up lunch was getting suspicious!

If you weren't pregnant, would you still need to go to the doctor? I think as this is pregnancy related and you have already told work then you shouldnt need to make up time.
