Normal to have cramps in early pregnancy?

Hello, after a year of ttc and only 2 periods in that time due to PCOs (last one 24 Dec), to my shock and delight I got a BFP on Tuesday 10th Feb. I have no idea how far along I am as my periods are so regular (could be as little as 4 but as much as 8), but I have had persistent cramps since about 3 weeks pre-BFP. They are generally fairly low level (dull pain, and I can still go about my day to day life) but occasionally more painful and I've worried I might be miscarrying- but so far no bleeding so fingers crossed I'm wrong. Are cramps like this normal? I haven't experienced nausea (tho I do have slightly sore nipples) so I'm not feeling that pregnant and just so worried about the cramps... Any help / advice / reassurance appreciated!

The cramps are normal. I've had them since about 4 weeks.

I had period cramps so much so I thought I was 'out' the month we got our BFP. I am 35+3

Thanks very much for the reassurance!

Had period cramps from day one. Always felt like af was on its way. It got better after 10 weeks, but I still get them once a week or so. They're not painful to stop me from whatever I'm doing.

Yep I had really painful cramps in the beginning, and then at about week 36 Braxton Hicks which took my breath away!!

My baby is now 7mo. Try not to worry, it will likely be the embryo burrowing in or everything inside stretching.

Congratulations Smile

Thanks very much, I feel really reassured! You read so much about morning sickness but not so much about cramps, good to know I'm not alone in this! ??

I also have PCOS and had terrible cramping for the first three weeks of my pregnancy...in fact that was the only sign! I am now nearly 36 weeks and am considered low risk. I'm not sure if us PCOS sufferers may be slightly more disposed to early cramping, be they implantation cramps or ovarian cramps. When I had my 12 week scan the sonographer said he could see which ovary it was that produced the egg as there was still a darkened spot...and as you probably know the walls of the ovaries of PCOS sufferers are slightly hardened. I hope all goes well and it settles down soon.

Completely normal. I had period pain type cramps til nearly 12wks, kept expecting AF to appear but am now 28wks and all fine

Thanks, that's interesting, I didn't know that about hardened ovary walls with PCOS but I guess it could explain the cramps. I am so impatient to see GP and figure out how many weeks along I am (if that's possible...can a blood test show that?) and then for the 12 week scan...I've only had BFP a week ago, but it feels like forever- the next 6 weeks (or however long til the scan...) are going to be tough going!
