Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else gets this? For the past 2 weeks I've been getting these headaches and even though they are not that painful they are absolutely horrible because they last from lunch time till I go to bed. Absolutely tormenting me.
I had this in the past, more than a year ago but not since and not in this pregnancy until I hit the 14w mark.
I wonder what the hell causes them. I feel like my head is up in a cloud somewhere and I can't concentrate at all. Coupled with the nausea that I still get every other day...it's not nice at all! :(((
I struggle a lot at work. Plus, I get so bloody tired in the afternoons it's so hard to cope.
All my bloods 2 weeks ago came back normal.

I could have wrote this post. I'm exactly the same. I'm 16+3 and constantly tired, suffering with headaches, I am trying to drink more water but so far no difference. I'm at the midwife tomorrow so if she recommends anything else I'll let you know, let's hope it passes soon xx

17+1 here and suffering with headaches too. Not overly painful but just really debilitating. Pregnancy is shit....xx

skinnylegs33 · 12/02/2015 22:39

It's ok, I don't mind them as long as they are "normal". I wasn't sure though whether they are something I should worry about or not.

swanny please let me know if your mw has anything helpful to say about this
xx

Have u tried drinking more water? I'm not pregnant but I get these symptoms and then when I look back through the morning I haven't drank enough!

Swanny84 · 12/02/2015 22:57

I will do skinny Smile

Topsyloulou · 13/02/2015 05:16

I'd suggest drinking more water & perhaps having a healthy snack mid afternoon to maintain your blood sugar levels if you manage it with the nausea.

Swanny84 · 13/02/2015 13:38

Midwife said they are normal, keep hydrated and seek advice if you have any swelling/really bad nausea/see dots in front of eyes as can indicate high blood pressure, my bp was perfect but still have splitting headache xx

skinnylegs33 · 13/02/2015 14:12

Hey swanny, very nice of you to get back thank you xxx I'm sort of relieved now. I don't have a headache today but woke up with this hangover feeling and my head just felt huge!! It's better now though
Happy to hear your bp is perfect. I'm always very stressed when they check mine.
topsy u drink 1.5 at work us whatever I drink at home. It should be enough I hope

I'm exactly the same. 15 weeks tomorrow and I have had headaches throughout my pregnancy so far. Sometimes I even wake up with one. They aren't debilitating by any means, but make me feel like I just want to curl up and go to sleep. Resisting the urge not to lie my head on my desk right now!
I find it's when I haven't drunk enough water but it's so hard to continuously drink, I'm weeing every five minutes!

boatrace30 · 13/02/2015 15:40

I went through a period of bad headaches at around the same time. I saw advice on a mumsnet thread to have some caffeine (e.g. cup of tea) as the headache starts... I found this really worked! This morning I woke up with the start of a headache, cup of tea and all gone!

skinnylegs33 · 13/02/2015 21:32

Thanks for the tip boatrace. I can't drink coffee as I have tachycardia but I can get away with some coke. Yesterday for the first time I tried coke and a brownie from pret (I love them!) and the headache vanished. I wonder if it did the trick or it was a coincidence.
birch yy to the weeing, mine only started last week, it's so bloody annoying.

It is really important to drink lots of water. I got rid of the headaches after very much upping my water intake. Dehydration is dangerous, can lead to prematura labour.

I got pregnancy phone app which tracks how many glasses of water you drink per day and that is where I saw how little I used to drink. It was hard at first but now 3 months later it became second nature. I highly recommend to start tracking during the day.
