i am 4 weeks pg after mmc in november / december last year.

dp and i moved into a tiny 1 bedroom flat september last year only to discover after a few weeks in it there is a damp problem in the bedroom. i then discovered mmc. i know it isnt right but i have somehow linked the damp / mould to mmc.

lucky enough to have fallen pg again very soon but the damp / mould problem is still there. have conacted ll (dps family) at least three times about this since november but nothing has been done. i'm petrified.

i know now in hindsight this was very silly but we havent signed a thing to live in this property not one bit of protection, i darent kick up a fuss as its family and i also dont want to be kicked out.

i know we have to look for something else which we will but not alot comes up where we live in our budget so could be a long wait. someone please reassure me a bit of damp / mould will not harm me or baby. just adding to the fear.

its in an awkward place too which means we will have to move a wardrobe to give it a good clean down and goes from floor to ceiling on one big wall. thats something we will tackle next week when were both off however im assuming it will just build up again straight away.

Just wanted to reassure you that I lived in a damp ground floor/basement flat until Pfb was 1 and she is unbelievably healthy! We found dehumidifier, opening curtains, airing for an hour every day really helped. We also stopped drying any washing indoors, kept bathroom door closed and window open when showering and always put lids on pans and extractor fan on when cooking.

Hope you get a new place soon, it's horrid, I know.

Clean the wall completely . You can buy a set from B&q type places, it's like a paint. Get yourself to a pound shop / asda and buy some damp traps -'they are brilliant. My damp issue is now gone but there are lots of things you can do for damp, including dehumidifiers, opening windows , ventilation systems or speaking to land lord and getting them to sort it ! I don't think you mc was linked though, please calm and de stress , mould can be dealt with properly when you face it head on

ive stopped panicing now tbh and deep down i know its not related at all but its just there in the back of my mind if you know what i mean.

the wall is all cleaned and treated. the landlord has been informed 3 times and supplied us with some tiny damp trap bags. we already have the units from the pound shops and although they grabbed some moisture the damp was still as bad as ever. were told by council to report but we cant as their family.

we can leave the dehumidifer on all day just worried about the cost. it is a really old one in wooden casing im not sure if be cost effective. will definitely keep it on the next few days tho as weve dampened the walls with the cleaning and treatment we used.

will see how it goes frm here hopefully improve as the weather warms up and now weve moved all the furniture we can keep on top of cleaning it down and putting the treatment on which is a relief in itself.

i do feel reassured it wont affect my pregnancy so thank you all for that!
