Are you taking hospital bag/s or a wheely suitcase? Thinking a case would be so much easier

with both of mine (as I will with this one) I used wheely suiyvases, big for me, little for baby. so much easier amd less to carry!

We took a small bag for ELCS then a banana bucket with everything else for postnatal.

I'm taking a case (I think, might change mind). Got a wheelie hand luggage one that is like a tardis which holds a lot. Have taken it way for a week and fitted everything I needed in it (have even came back with unworn clothes)

Will do some canny packing again Smile

I took a holdall first time and have packed it again for this one.

Tbh I only used about half of what I packed so have put a lot less in this time, I'll probably leave a bag with the extras in the boot of the car just in case.

I've got a back pack for my ELCS with everything I need and baby till we get up to the ward.

and the one of those holdalls with the wheels and hidden handles for stay on ward.

I'm going in Wednesday night Grin can't wait

I took two bags last time. I will be taking a wheelie case this time - the bags were a right pain to lug about.

Honestly the bare minimum. Stuff for you, sleep suit for baby. Nappies, cotton wool. Baby wipes.

Small a bag as you can manage. I agree, put a spare bag in the boot of the car if you can't travel light.

There's not a lot of room and the less you have to worry about, the better. Your birth partner can nip home or to mothercare if you need or forget anything.

If you're lucky you might not even stay overnight. Even if not, extra clothes can be brought in. I stayed 3 days and just needed 2 nighties and clothes to go home in.

I saw one woman arrive for an induction with a suitcase- would have done my family of 4 for a weeks med holiday easily. Everybody asked her how long she was planning on staying!

Previously I have used bags but this time I'm going to use a case as I found it harder to find anything. I appreciate I might be alone in that.

Wenglish · 08/02/2015 16:29

I mean a small hand luggage case. It was harder for me to find somewhere to stash the bags rather than a case could go anywhere.
I'm going to pack minimum stuff but with some extra sleepsuits.
I would suggest not to put baby in going home outfit until you are about to go home, they might poo...everywhere in their lovely sleepsuit lookingatyouDS
