Hi all !

Have just found out I am pregnant - yes very early days - but it's my first and its all new to me. I rang up my gp presuming they would confirm my pregnancy in a more formal way other than 20 home tests! She told me they don't need to do this and to directly call the hospital of whom are sending me paper work and will confirm a date for me to go in at around week 9!! I was shocked.. This seems so far away? I feel like I need to speak to a professional simply because I am new to all this. She did explain to me all the do's and don'ts but I still feel a bit lost!

Can someone please tell me if this is normal procedure?

Thanks so much in advance x

Congratulations! Where we are you have to have it confirmed by a Dr (as if the 30 I'd done weren't proof enough!) and then book in with the midwife at 8 weeks. They do the initial blood tests etc and send a request off for the 12 weeks scan which then comes to us through the post :)

You can find out at 3 weeks pregnant as I did this time, depends on when you ovulate and your LP and how soon you test. I found out at about 3+3 :) I knew I was pregnant at 6dpo and had a real squinter line at 8 days which was an undeniable faint line at 10dpo.

I was 3 + 4 when I got my BFP this time. I'd never had one before 4 + 4 in the past but it's possible!

Hi ladies, sorry for the late reply. Thanks @raw for the info...thats the thing, i don't have a clue!! my clear blues said 2-3 weeks, i don't even know what this means. Gosh i must sound so so silly but this is what i would like to be confirmed via a doctor. x

If the clearblue test says 2-3 then that means 4-5 weeks pregnant. The midwife will count your pregnancy from the first day of your last period to get a rough idea of how far along you are then when you have your first scan they will measure the baby and work out a more precise due date.
