Novice question regarding warming up baby bottles when on an outing!

So I'm due in April with my first baby.
Have been purchasing SMA, and have also been treated to the Tommee Tippee Perfect Prep Machine by my partner. I bought a Tommee Tippee sterilizer too.

A few days ago I suddenly had a thought and felt so silly. I feel silly asking it but I'm a complete novice!

When your out.. How do you feed baby?!
Do I make up the bottles beforehand, and reheat them when out? I know certain places have the microwaves to warm baby bottles. Can you reheat the milk once it's gone cool?
Or can you give them the cool milk?
Or what if I'm out somewhere that doesn't have the heating facilities?!
I can't believe I didn't think about this before!
Please don't judge me! Confused

Beware if you are buying the formula now. It has a shelf life. DSIL got a tin that was nearly out of shelf life when she got it so if you are going to hold onto it a couple of months check the date.

The advice to sterilise as long as you use formula is long standing (and common sense). My DS is 2 and this was the advice I was given.

Not all HV give the same advice of course, but everyone I know with young children was advised the same. Why risk those particular bugs by not sterilising? It's not run of the mill germs you're dealing with.

Thankyou again all. I appreciate all of the replies!

If someone hasn't said it tommee tippee do a bottle flask which is what I used for DS.

It was a pain in the arse asking for hot water at places and legally some of them can't do it due to health and safety.

Oh and fyi don't panic about boiling water if you're using the perfect prep obviously as this does all of that for you and uses boiling water which kills the bacteria etc. Smile

Hi Bubalou yes it has been mentioned so it's definitely on my list! Thankyou. Yes I'm aware a lot of places can't or just won't do it due to their policy or whatever. Which is what first made me worry!

I don't blame you op.

The flask for me was a lifesaver as the usual look from staff when asking for water in places was Confused or a flat no.

I think it just gives you peace of mind. Plus good for car journeys etc.

I can understand that providing boiling water to customers may be a health and safety concern, but in my experience a lot of restaurants and eateries have a bottle warmer which is quite handy as its good to go once heated (rather than allowing the bottle to rest after microwaving and shaking well to ensure hot spots are dispelled).
