Pregnancy, waxing and suncream

Bit of a random one this but I'm going away for a long weekend where it's warm enough to possibly wear shorts, which will be a nice change! Just taken a look at myself and booked in for an emergency wax so I don't look like the wild woman of borneo. I've been going for years, but have no idea with all the hormones etc flying round whether I should expect it to hurt more, more plucked chicken effect etc - I should be ok to do this pregnant, right?

In addition, do I need to rethink my suncream approach? I'm really limited to what I can use as I'm allergic to most stuff, but the lady who does my acupuncture was putting the fear of god in me about what to use because of the impact on the baby. Should I be worried or is this more scaremongering?

In terms of suncream, I would use what you usually do but a higher factor. I'm about to go to Egypt so I have bought factor 50, I normally tan easily and wear 30/20 spf. In terms of the harm it may do to the baby, I think me getting skin cancer is a bigger concern that the small possibility of an ingredient making it way from my skin all the way to the baby!

Waxing was no different for me. However i know some women feel it is more painful when pregnant.

I researched sunscreen. I wear a sunscreen that is recommended for pregnancy (see photo) it doesn't have the chemicals that modern sunscreens do, but it does leave a faint white layer (which absorbs over time) and needs applying more often. Having said that i only use this because I live in a hot country and swim everyday and so use the sunscreen every day. If i was going away just for a couple of weeks i would use the regular stuff in 50 or over. It is only because over 9 months i would be absorbing a lot of it.

I used baby sunscreen - it being both high factor and gentle on skin.
