Anyone else had experience of anterior placenta?

So at 22 weeks I feel very little movement still, and found out at the scan that I have an anterior placenta which cushions most of baby's movements. I didn't have this with my first so it's a bit unnerving as I go most days feeling little or nothing. Does anyone else who's had this know if it's likely to be like this all the way through now? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy not to be kept awake all night by kicks and punches, but I can often forget there's anything in there and it doesn't help with my whole sense of denial of what's due to come in 4 months!!

I read in my notes I had anterior placenta started feeling kicks from around 24 weeks proper ones and had a straight forward csection where it was never mentioned. I could also see movements very clearly the bigger I got.

I had an anterior placenta with my first. Think the main problem was that mine was a typical 1st baby and didn't want to come out. I was induced, and as baby was back to back had an anterior lip and baby became distressed so had emcs. No mention of it bring more tricky because of anterior placenta. I didn't feel a huge amount of movement, esp compared to my 2nd pregnancy with posterior placenta. 2nd baby was also back to back. Midwife said it must be just the way I carry them. Sad

You're likely to feel all the normal movements, just a bit later. The baby needs to be that bigger and stronger to be felt through the placenta. You might find that you can feel less from the outside (e.g. your partner) throughout.

I've had two babies and two anterior placentas; with DS1 I felt the first movements at 25 weeks, but realised that I'd been feeling stuff for a little while and had just assumed that it was my bowels Blush

With DS2 the placenta was still anterior but in a slightly different way, and I knew how it felt by then so detected his presence at 19 weeks Grin

I had an anterior placenta with DS2 hardly any movements til maybe 25 weeks and by the end huge crazy movements all the time. I was worried about a back to back labour so did the spinning babies daily activities to try to make sure he was the right way round

I have anterior placenta, was booked in for a c section at about 16 weeks. Absolutely nothing said about it being more risky.

Started feeling movements about 19 weeks, am now 35 and everything going smoothly :) baby is wriggling, kicking etc constantly!
