Hello ladies,

i am in my last few days and have been told by friends and family to use epo as there still no signs of my son coming, can anyone give me advice about this and the best way to use it? I was told to insert it??

Thank you so much

Insert one internally when you go to bed, and wear a maternity pad as it can be messy once it dissolves. It's meant to contain prostaglandins to ripen the cervix. You can also take it orally.

I inserted a couple after I was overdue and it did nothing. Baby's head was at an angle though so he wasn't coming either way. Try it!

I don't think it will bring on labour but it might help ripen your cervix. I was induced with my first pregnancy (at 38 weeks) and my midwife advised I insert one or two at night time (wear a pad or liner, it can be messy) to help prepare my cervix. I don't if it actually works but when I went in for my induction I was told my cervix was effaced and soft and that it was ready for labour. As you are at 40 weeks I suppose there can be no harm. Maybe talk to midwife first?
