How do babies movements progress!?

I am 22 weeks and have been feeling movement since 18w5d obviously they were really light pokes and prods and have been getting slowly stronger. She is quite a quiet baby and at the 20 week scan just wanted to sleep, chocolate and apples seem to get her moving. Some days she is very quite and i barely feel her and some days she has more of a pattern, like moving when i get into bed at night and start to rest.
This morning while doing an essay in bed i felt her move loads! I don't know whether it is just cause she is getting stronger and bigger cause i am still too early to have a definite pattern yet. I am aware of keeping an eye on decreasing movements as well as increased movements so i guess i am just asking did people notice movements getting stronger and stronger in the first few weeks of actually feeling movements!?

I'm 35 weeks now. I have some regular times when I get movement (about 2am and when I'm on the bus home from work) but otherwise no strict pattern. Baby's very active in church (the organ?) but not at that time on weekdays.

To start with I had flutters but hadn't really associated them with kicks. I then got much clearer movement. We then progressed to kicking me in the ribs and wriggling from side to side. Then moved down to middle and kicking in one side particularly while pushing out on the other. Now I think baby's dropped further and I get kicks lower down and still some wriggling with occasional pushes out to the side.

If you have a regular pattern then you are more likely to notice changes and decrease in movements but it is easy to get anxious -I always give it a few hours before I worry (not htat I've needed to).

I'm 30 weeks, and my whole belly moves when she kicks.

I'm very active, always walking the dogs are doing activities with toddlers, so she is very quiet in the day. But when I sit down (like now!), she goes mental and it hurts she is so strong. Right into my ribs.

I'm a little weird though as i have complicated pregnancies and am almost measuring term already, so not sure if it's normal for babies of this gestation to be this violent!

Ahh thank you both, as long as it is normal for her to start getting quite strong. I think up until today she hasn't had much strength behind her kicks but she is definitely getting stronger. I am keeping an eye on the movements, she seems to have slowed down a bit an im getting the more regular mini pokes. I have heard that when they get bigger the kicks can actually be painful!
I just have first pregnancy naivety, i have no idea what is expected and what isnt lol Thanks for the reassurance.

My kids and DH are used to me suddenly yelling out now. I get a chorus of 'baby has woken up then' chanted at me.

In short, yes they can get VERY strong!

Of course they get stronger as time passes, it's getting bigger, which is why you're feeling it more in the first place. You won't just feel more at the same strength as always but more often.

Haha monkey oh dear! i guess it is a sign that they are healthy if they are strong!!

Thanks everyone :D

I also have quiet babies. My dd wuss very quite and hardly ever moved just a handful of times in the day, as I got further along the kicks did become stronger but they weren't proper kicks usually, just slow pushes if that makes sense. She was perfectly healthy and, not sure if there is a link, she was also very quiet after birth. Ds (currently 26 weeks pregnant) seems to be following a similar pattern, kicks/pushes are getting stronger but if I don't pay attention I could miss them because there only a des each days. As others have said, patterns and strength does vary a bit in the early days of movement.
