Maternity Coat - To buy or not to buy?

Am currently 15+3 and starting to get a pretty obvious bump. My current coat still fits, but only just. Another month and its going to be bursting at the seems!

It's obviously been getting colder this past couple of weeks, and my normal duffle type coat just isn't keeping me warm enough. My original plan before finding out I was pregnant was to get a proper wind/snow/everything proof winter coat, but now don't see the point as won't be able to fit into it! But I really don't want to spend out loads of money on a good maternity winter coat when I would only be wearing it Feb, March and possibly April at the latest, before it starts getting too warm to wear anymore. I'm due early July, so that would mean a maternity summer coat also...

What is/has/would anyone else do? X

This is the coat I have.

now 20 quid in the sale. Reasonably smart, reasonably waterproof and just great.

I'm 24 weeks and had same problem my coat was getting a little snug so I looked in new look I didn't want to spend loads as will only wear it this winter , I found one I liked but it was £40 but when I turned round they had the same coat but in the inspire range for £20 so I got a size 18 and it fits perfect with space to grow Smile

I bought a cheap, normal coat the first time, it was double breasted and only had 3 rows of buttons which finished before my bump so was ideal, I only paid £25 from Asda so it wasn't a waste when I threw it away, shops seem to bump (excuse the pun) the price up on clothes once they're labelled as maternity.

This time I haven't bothered as I've been determined not to gain as much weight! I'm still in my normal coat which is a bit snug but does up and I've only got 6 weeks left so not worth it now.

I just added a large cashmere scarf. Uniquo have some for £30 atm. I then wore around baby sling and now as regular scarf.

jessplussomeonenew any recommendations? I am due in early July too & will definitely be slinging baby, so been wondering if I should get a maternity coat that will work next autumn with carrying the baby too...

My mum bought me a 'swing' style coat from tesco so it wasn't expensive and she got it two sizes above my normal size. I'm due in three weeks and having a coat was a godsend even just to cover up when I was feeling self conscious

I am due in 3 weeks and thought for the sake of a month or so I would just buy a huge normal coat in the sales . I got a size 22 coat from Asda for £10 ! I know I wont ever wear it again !!

I didn't bother last time as I was due in September and didn't have a bump until June, so no need for a coat that does up! However I've a bigger bump this time, due in June and my coat is getting to the point of being uncomfortable to do up now. With freezing weather forecast, I've ordered this coat which I hope will last through the babywearing/school run autumn-winter next year as well.
