Pregnancy Vitamins Poundland...

Just wondering if any of you ladys have tried these I have been using pregnacare but they are expensive would like to know people thoughts on cheaper ones?

At the end of the day, a vitamin is just that - a vitamin. It can't be anything else because it legally can't be sold as a vitamin when it's not.
When you buy pregnacare you're paying for the packaging and the marketing.
This is how other pharmaceutical companies get you - there is no difference between a £6 packet of nurofen ibuprofen and a 32p packet of non brand ibuprofen from Aldi

I went for the Sainsbury's ones. Got everything you need in there and cost £4 for 30 capsules, and are on a buy two get one free offer. I'm not overly sure I'd trust the pound shop ones!

Please don't take multivitamins no matter who makes them.

Im no expert but I think the difference is in the way how the products are formulated because that affects how they will absorb.
The body can only use vitamins delivered in certain form. There are many factors that affect absorbency and also how the vitamins are derived, from what they are made.
You can research absorbency % of many brands.

I dont think that Pregnacare is of any particular quality also. But I would not take any vits from Poundland. I got pregnacare on offer buy 1 get one 50off plus got 7 pound store credit from Holland &B.
I will be ordering Viridian after I finish these.

Pipbin - that article suggests long-term and excessive vitamin taking could increase mortality. Not necessarily the 9 month consumption of RDAs. In principle, I agree and don't take them, but since my doc recommended the folic acid and Vit D, I just bought the preg vits. If there were swathes of pregnant women dying after taking preg vits, I'm fairly sure we'd've heard by now.

If you do buy the poundland pregnancy vitamins, make sure you check the dosage,

I bought them and took one a day, realised after 3 weeks that you are actually meant to take 3 a day.

I am now back on pregnacare ones
