26+3: do I need the hospital?

I've had pink discharge for about 12 hours now (DTD this morning, was in my pad and toilet after)

Throughout the day my front and back have been cramping and my Braxton Hicks(?) are strong enough to stop me doing whatever I'm doing and breathe through them.
There is a lot of pain and pressure in my cervix; I'm struggling to walk.

I'm tired and sore- what is this? Is it worth a call to Triage or is it all normal?

Believe it or not this is my second baby Blush

Three different phone numbers later I got through and they want me to go and have a check, need to wait for DP and I'll be on my way

Oh pleased to hear it! Thanks

PatMullins · 11/12/2014 12:01

Sorry for being fussy, I've been in hospital loads with this pregnancy and was worried about 'making a fuss' as it were! Thank you for your support Flowers

Good luck op. You were absolutely right to call and get checked out. Hope all is fine.x

blackwidow74 · 11/12/2014 14:24

Never apologise for making a fuss ... good luck and fingers crossed it was a one off!!

PatMullins · 11/12/2014 16:05

Just got back, everything is ok!
Cervix is fine, some contractions but not enough for a concern and a problem with a pelvic joint- but no labour luckily!

Thank you for encouraging me to go, sometimes I need a push Blush

Oh that's good news Pat !

ohdearitshappeningtome · 11/12/2014 16:14

It's better to be safe than sorry! Glad all ok

UntamedByName · 11/12/2014 16:22

I'm so glad to hear that, OP! I was quite worried about you, so I'm really relieved everything's ok. Good on you for getting it checked out - in pregnancy, better safe than sorry!

PatMullins · 11/12/2014 16:54

Thank you! You lot were much more useful than DP I must say Grin
I'm so sick of speculums, although I'm becoming quite the pro!

Great news!

Did you have anti D?

divingoffthebalcony · 11/12/2014 17:48

I doubt Anti D is required for pink CM. I had one tiny streak of blood in CM last week (am 17 weeks) and my midwife didn't suggest Anti D. It's more for proper bleeds and knocks to the bump.

PatMullins · 11/12/2014 17:48

No anti D, the considered it but I have one booked for 19th so they thought it was ok to wait...is this right?

OP posts:
ohdearitshappeningtome · 11/12/2014 18:42

Yeh it's normal to have it at 28 weeks. I had mine in Valentine's Day this year when I was 28 weeks ha

PatMullins · 11/12/2014 18:47

Oh how romantic Xmas Grin
Mine will be my early Christmas treat, horrible things. I've already had one this pregnancy because of previous bleeding- forgot all about these from my last pregnancy

Hmm well Anti D needs to be given within 72 hours of any internal bleeding to prevent formation of antibodies.

So either they think there might be an internal bleed, in which case you should have it now, or they don't, in which case you don't need it.

What they can't do is think "oh there might be an internal bleed but she doesn't need anti D today as she's having it on the 19th."

I'd call the midwives tomorrow am and double check whether you should have had it. Probably the answer is they don't think you need it, ie not a significant enough bleed, but best to check.

Oh pat in so glad you went & all is well!! here is an un mumsnetty hug
