QueenQuootieSpookypieBee · 10/10/2006 10:39

No advice, but wishing you the best ((hugs))

Creena · 10/10/2006 10:39

Hey there - please don't worry.

Firstly, do you have any abdominal pain? Is there any bleeding at all? I think that these may be more indicative of a potential miscarriage than a temperature drop. With regards to your CM, it is not unusual to continue to have CM during pregnancy.

If I were you, I would ring my GP and see if there are any appointments free today - asking for advice from and being examined by your GP may reassure you.

DelGhoul · 10/10/2006 10:39

Hi Rubyroo. Your pg test is still showing positive so thats a good sign. If I were you i'd ditch the book tbh as it won't help you to read things like that. What made you take your temp? Are you not feeling very good?

Hopefully all is well with the pg and .2 drop in your temp isn't significant, though i'm not a doctor. tbh, hard as it is, there is not an awful lot you can do. Please try not to worry. {{{hugs}}

TenaLady · 10/10/2006 10:39

You are working yourself up, which will not help you. Get yourself home and relaxed, tell work you are under the weather, dont give them all the details, maybe see if you can get an appointment at the docs this afternoon.

FGS do not sit their worrying about something that might not happen.

SCARErenity · 10/10/2006 10:40

Are you bleeding and having cramps? If you aren't then please calm down. I don't know your history (have you been ttc for a long time or had a m/c before?) but you seem to be overreacting to a lot of ifs, buts and maybes. Take a deep breath, sit down and have a cup of tea.

TenaLady · 10/10/2006 10:41

I really didnt know anything about temp dropping and stuff when I miscarried my triplets last year. The first I knew was I was having mini contractions in the lower uterus (bit like an orgasm) and the bleeding came days after.

So dont fret and get some sound advice from your gp. quick smart.

trace2 · 10/10/2006 10:42

listen to all, go home stop try and relax (i know its hard) and having ewcm is a good sign

Hi rubyroo!

Firstly relax. This temperature dip could mean nothing. I temped for the first six weeks of my pg and my temp went up and down and all over the shop (above coverline, below it etc). Your temp can change for all manner of reasons (illness, stress, fatigue, late nights, change in diet etc etc). If you're pg and stressed anyway I think taking your temp is an unreliable test of anything. You are not bleeding or cramping, so this is a good sign.

That said I would go to your GP if you are worried and throw the bloody thermometer away. Honestly, it will only stress you out.

BTW I am 9wks pg and have a strong baby with a good hearbeat so those early temps meant nothing.

I know how agonising it is when you think it's going wrong and I sympathise. Look after yourself and try to relax.

mears · 10/10/2006 10:56

rubyroo - absolutely definitely ditch the thermometer - that is not a reliable sign of misscarriage. The GP will not be able to advise anything at this stage either. It is too early for a decent scan - at this stage they often induce more anxiety as they are often not conclusive. Try and chill which I know is easier said than done. Maybe it is better to concentrate on work than stay at home fretting?

Jimjams2 · 10/10/2006 10:58

Is 0.2 even within the range of accuracy of the thermometer? When the boys are ill I can takae their temp twice within the same minute and it can differ by more than that.

It will vary by more than that during the course of the day anyway. Generally higher in the evening than the morning.

Jimjams2 · 10/10/2006 11:00

here

Philomena · 10/10/2006 11:51

There's nothing like the first 12 weeks of pregnancy for latching onto every niggle, twinge and symptom to get the fear. Relax, relax, relax, that's the best you can do.

You'll be fine, and as other people have said, ditch the thermometer. Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different. I temped before conceiving and would take an average of three readings every day. My temperature on each reading was never the same and sometimes varied loads.

rubyroo · 10/10/2006 13:16

thank you everyone i know it must seem like i'm completely over-reacting i've made an excuse and come home from work cause just couldn't stop nearly crying and i'm a teacher so not good in front of kids. am going to try and be positive i have weak period like cramps but no blood so it probably is nothing i was trying for while and not ovulating and the whole ttc thing has got a bit out of control in my head tbh.

Oh rubyroo....all you are feeling, seeing and thinking sounds so normal for early pg to me. I did loads of the thermometer ttc stuff, totally understand the worrying...but honestly, it goes up and down like a yoyo in early pregnancy (mine did) and FWIW as a veteran miscarrier I had neither temp drops nor cramps when things did go wrong. And I had periody feelings when they went right!
Hugs, take care of yourself xx

Olihan · 10/10/2006 13:24

Rubyroo, the cramps could be implantation pains, the beginnings of the ligaments around your uterus stretching or just all the changes that go on 'down there' when you are pg. I had quite sharp cramps in the early stages of all my pgs and it wasn't anything untoward.

I suspect when you've been ttc for a while and it finally happens it makes you even more conscious of every tiny twinge but as others have said you can not do anything at this stage anyway.

Concentrate on the fact that your test is still a bfp and your body is most likely getting used to it's new job of nurturing your baby and try to relax.

rubyroo · 10/10/2006 13:28

thanks Eliboo for telling me about your experience of miscarriage and Olihan about the implantation stuff ithink because the book sounds so certain it really freaked me out but i'm not going to temp or look at it anymore. what will be and all that

Creena · 10/10/2006 13:31

Hi Rubyroo - for what it's worth, I had cramping and back pain from 4 weeks up until 6 weeks. It's not at all uncommon and is caused by your uterus and surrounding ligaments stretching. Glad you got yourself back home - try to relax and not worry (I know that's easier said than done). If you think it would help, make an appointment with your GP, just to have things checked out and to get some advice.
