started at 65 kg (172cm, bmi of 22) and now at 21 weeks am 70.5kg.

Last time I was about 77kg on dday and aiming not to gain more weight than that if I can help it!

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 25/11/2014 20:20

I put on 5 stone with my first baby. This time I am 35 weeks and have gained a little under 2 stone, so hoping to gain less this time round. Started with a BMI of 19 and had put on half a stone this time round by week 11, but it calmed down since.

beachbummer · 25/11/2014 20:23

I'm 24 weeks and have put on 1st 3lb so far but feel a lot bigger!

strawberry1202 · 25/11/2014 21:29

Hi, I'm 29 weeks and put on 2 stone so far. Bmi was 23 ish I think at the start. Was also v lucky not to have any sickness so have been gaining weight since the start, also I think the ivf drugs I had to take can cause weight gain at the beginning... one way or another I was in maternity jeans by 7 weeks!

browneyedgirly · 25/11/2014 21:34

Hi, im so relieved to see the variation - looks like pretty much anything is 'normal'!

I'm 23 weeks and starting weight was 69kg, now 74kg. Just worked out that that's 11lbs (because I've never measured in kg before!) I've gained. I'm not surprised though, I'm hungry literally ALL the time and can't stop eating although I do try to be good!! Starting BMI was 22.

beebop100 · 25/11/2014 21:57

38 weeks, starting bmi of 30, gained a stone five pounds, I really wanted to keep it under a stone but from 35 weeks I've been sooo hungry! Ah well.

montymonty · 25/11/2014 23:05

I honestly don't know how much I've gained. I refuse to weigh myself! I'm 34 weeks and I don't look much different - apart from the enormous belly! My BMI was recorded at my booking in as 28 but I don't take much stock of that as I was lifting (heavy) weights prior to getting pregnant.

Azquilith · 25/11/2014 23:16

Put nothing on till about 24 weeks. BMI of less than 20. Then about 2.5 stone as discovered a taste for chocolate for the first time in my life.

AlwaysLurking38 · 26/11/2014 01:31

BMI was 25 at first check up, I'll be 34 weeks on Friday and I've put on 14lb. Really pleased cause with my 1st pregnancy id put on 20lb by 20 weeks!

CursiveLetters · 26/11/2014 02:02

I'm 30 weeks and have put on 25 pounds - was 19 BMI to start so on the low side of normal

Twinklestar2 · 26/11/2014 02:20

4 stone!!

But 2 stone came off in the first 10 days post partum.

yazz21 · 26/11/2014 03:19

With Dd1 I lost a stone at the beginning and by the end had put on 7lbs.
Currently 23 weeks pregnant with Dd2. Lost nearly 2 stone with HG in the 1st trimester and i've only put back on 8lbs so far. So I'm still over a stone lighter unfortunately.

ApocalypseThen · 26/11/2014 06:28

I'm 12 weeks and am up 3 lbs. I'm not too worried about it because my diet has been fairly awful lately due to all-day nausea. I was overweight to start with though, so I'm hoping that I can use up some if my own fat now that I can eat properly again and maybe maintain my weight for a bit.

MirandaWest · 26/11/2014 06:44

I put on a lot of weight with both pregnancies - around 4.5 stone with both DC. I weighed around 8.5 to 9 stone before getting pg each time though. I think weight gain during pregnancy is a very personal thing.

hopefull2424 · 26/11/2014 07:10

Thank you all for sharing :). As I am already a larger lady am I right in thinking that they monitor your weight more now. When I had my ds 4 years ago I was lighter and lost weight in first trimester and they never bothered weighing me more than twice in my whole pregnancy. I've heard it's a different story now days.
I've just started in the last few days to get food aversions which I think Is causing nausea because I'm hungry but don't fancy anything to eat. Hope I can keep eating fairly healthy through this bit

I'm 37 weeks and have put on just over 3 stone. Hmm

My starting BMI was 19 and I still look fit and slim in other areas. I do suffer bad morning sickness though so it's probably the constant eating :)

The weight always falls off me again.

AlwaysLurking38 · 26/11/2014 07:54

I think it depends what area your in whether they monitor your weight or not. I was weighed at my first midwife appointment, Havnt been weighed by her since!

I weigh myself weekly just to check I'm doing alright, but my midwife hasn't been interested in my weight

L00p · 26/11/2014 10:10

I was a normal BMI to start with (20) and I've put on 19lbs and I'm 34 + 4 . My weight gain just stalled by the third trimester as it is really uncomfortable being too full

Initially I was worried i hadn't put on enough as the bump was a bit on the small side earlier, but now it is definitely getting bigger by the week and the midwife isn't concerned, so I am eating as normally and healthily as I can

SeaSaltMill · 26/11/2014 10:28

I gained about a stone and a half up to 14 weeks but even though my bump has grown loads, I know only weight a stone more than I did pre-pregnancy. I must have lost weight elsewhere. It's starting to creep up again now, undoubtedly because of the amount I am cramming in every day!

birdofthenorth · 26/11/2014 11:45

Starting BMI of 33 and have gained a stone now at 24 weeks. Was so keen not to gain much but starving all the time (nauseas if hungry) and less able to exercise because of SPD. Really keen to get it under control now but daily willpower evaporates about lunchtime!

penguin1986 · 26/11/2014 12:33

I've put on 3 stone and I'm 37 weeks with twins. I'm hoping I will be able to shift it afterwards ??
