Nursing clothes

Hello everyone. I'm expecting baby number 3 in two weeks time (booked in for elective section). I've been looking for some nice nursing clothes but every thing on the usual sites (seraphine, mothercare, New look etc) is so skin tight! So the nursing tops all seem to be very fitted. The reality is of course the baby bump will take weeks to go down so I really want some nice tops/dresses that are a looser fit. Has anyone got any ideas or managed to find some nice nursing clothes that are suitable for the first few weeks after the birth? I need some inspiration...

I got a nice top from monsoon that unbuttons and you could have a vest underneath, but my boobs are quite small so I just go out the top to feed ! Depends on your boobs as to what you want.

Definitely go for jojo tops on eBay, they are nice but expensive

I found it really hard to find nursing tops I liked, I gave birth in spring so was even worse finding summer stuff! I bought a few chiffony type shirts and wore vest tops underneath, might be a good option for the colder months too? Perhaps not chiffon but you get what I mean. That way you have access to boobies, without exposing your tummy (shirt unbuttoned a bit, vest up or down) and you're not buying 'nursing' and can wear them even when not breast feeding. X

Yes I'm thinking vest tops underneath jumpers/tops in a larger size than usual is probably what I'll do. I'm guessing I'll be needing to wear leggings for a while though due to the scar. Thanks for the tips.

Nursing clothes are so unnecessarily expensive! Are there any normal clothes that work well when trying to nurse?

I'm going for a few blouses and some wrap dresses /tops got a few blouses that I have worn for maternity that are casual so will probably use them

I just wear anything that I can get my boobs out of - the early days I lived in shirts with a vest under, but most tshirts with a medium to low neckline are fine really. Skater dresses are perfect as long as there's a bit of stretch to the neckline, and new look etc sell them cheaply enough that I don't feel guilty chucking them out after a while if they get a bit mis-shapen (DD is 9 months and I'm just starting to need to get rid of a couple, so it's not like it happens overnight).

If it's a top that I don't want to stretch or that has a high neckline, I just wear a best under so I can lift the top without flashing my wobbly belly :)

I found these amazing and wish I got them at the start. First I just wore all my baggy things and was too scared to feed outside and then I got 3 nursing tops that cost like £20 each! I had to wash them constantly so eventually looked for something else.
I found breastvests amazing. They come up just under your bra and are designed to cover your belly up so you can lift whatever top you are wearing up to nurse. It meant I could just get lots of cheap tops that I liked in whatever size fit me at the time and it worked for feeding. They have been great when getting back into pre preg clothes too and I wouldn't be without them with my little one almost 1yr old and still nursing. So much cheaper and easier than constantly getting nursing tops which I find are way too expensive. I would have spent a fortune on nursing clothes in the last 11 months otherwise as my body changed shape.
Can prob get off eBay as well.

I bought a nursing top from www.angelmaternity.co.uk last week. Never heard of them before but am in love with the top. Easy to breastfeed and really discreet. Lose fitting but flattering (hides my bumps anyway :-)). Just ordered another one in blue. I think it would have been quite good for pregnancy too...so if I can convince dh to have a second baby I'm sorted ha ha.
