this is my sisters first pregnancy and the birthing centre have told her she cannot go there because babies head is still high and not engaged.
She has been referred to a consultant.
What does this mean - does any one know or have any experience as she is worried
TIA

Mrsflowerpot - really glad to hear of your situation before I head into second time. I asked the hospital doc if likely to be high a second time (I too was told it was prob my body shape that caused that first time - but different country, different consultant meant cs wasn't considered necessary) and was told that the position was not related to me but to "the passenger" fgs. I will grill them next time I see them re - their reqs for cs. I'm terrified of surgery and REALLY want to avoid it if at all possible. But, in the end, what say do you really have??

Really interesting, i am 40+3 no braxton hicks or contractions , saw midwife earlier in week and said head was high and free. Wonder if i am heading for c- section. Did n't realise induction was less likely to work if head not engaged. This is my 2nd pregnancy BTW and delivered normally 1st time.
