Anyone got a sensible reason why cheesecake isn't allowed in pregnancy?

I'm 6 weeks pregnant and was at a conference dinner yesterday. The woman sitting next to me was also pregnant and made a fuss about how she couldn't have the cheesecake for dessert "unless it was a baked cheesecake." The waitress confirmed it didn't contain raw egg but wasn't sure if it was baked or not, so the woman had the dairy free dessert option instead.
I had the cheesecake. So can anyone enlighten me as to what ingredient this woman might have been trying to avoid? Or was she just a bit mad?

some 'set' cheese cakes are made with raw egg.
but I would have scoffed the lot

Will report back later on tonight's dinner!
Just glad she doesn't know I'm pregnant - she might try to stop me from eating my dinner

DH didn't bring cheesecake and is now asleep on the sofa >: (

It's got the word "cheese" in it so it can't be okay to eat. I'm sure you can find a book/website/forum which forbids it but so long as it's made in hygenic conditions I can't see anything wrong with it (apart from the fact I don't like cheesecake).
Gran-in-law is cocliac and does make a big fuss about gluten when out and about. E.g. we'll have mentioned it when booking, she'll tell them when we arrive, when ordering she'll ask them to check and then when the food arrives she asks again. She's a nice old lady though so people don't mind.
