Didn't want to read and run...

My first too Emma, I'm due on the 14th. Clearly this is the blind leading the blind as I have no idea what to expect either but I have heard many very positive birth experiences. Our bodies are designed to do this. Try to trust the process. For me, knowledge of what all the options are has helped me to feel more prepared. If all goes to plan we are having a midwife led birthing centre birth and I have started to look forward to it at last. I am very ready to be able to bend over and put my shoes and socks on again!

Wishing you all the luck for a straightforward and easy birth. You can do it.

Try to keep yourself busy (but not too tired), I got really depressed about it all between 37 and 39 weeks, now I'm over due and just want to get the baby out all my fears have vanished!
Good luck xx

This is also my first. I'm due on the 8th. I've been on mat leave for a couple of weeks and I've got all my jobs done so now it's just a waiting game. I know everyone says I'll be late but I just keep looking out for signs. I'll probably be driving myself crazy over the next few weeks! This part of the pregnancy seems to be the longest bit!

If it's of any comfort, I've got 3 and each delivery terrified me!!! Trust your body. It will really be OK. We're designed to deliver babies. Trust your midwives. They live and breathe delivering. Ask for any pain management the moment you get to the hospital, if psin management is your plan. Keep reminding everyone and anyone about the epidural, if you have decided to go along that route. They tend to give epidurals in the order they're requested, so get in there early with your request. With every delivery I kept telling myself "this too shall pass". It's a day of your life and it is not a cakewalk, but that moment you meet your baby, well goodness there aren't enough beautiful words to describe such a divine event. Blessings and great luck to you!
