This is meant to be light-hearted!

So after successfully using this method for the past 7 years since DS came along, we thought we were onto a sure thing. We now find ourselves 9 weeks pregnant, so it clearly does not work!

Has anyone else used this method but still fell pregnant?

"and even more delighted our child's very exisitance will prove I was right and DP was wrong "

That is the key point Grin

5 years of this method was fine, start using condoms and oh would you look at that!

My current 33 week pregnancy (DC3) is the result of the rhythm method not working... We really took it seriously too, went to a fertility counsellor to learn about it, I charted, we took no chances on potentially fertile days and yet here we are (quite happy about it now that I'm finally getting me head around it!). The thing is that, unlike the withdrawal method, the rhythm method looks quite good on paper.

DH is now going for the snip. And I think we'll still combine it with something else, to be sure.

SomeSunnySunday, after the snip, you need to wait until ALL your dh's 'samples' come back clear after the op before taking any chances.

My dfriend had an unplanned bfp, her and her twatty boyfriend were using the withdrawal method. Her ds is 11 now.

Before ttc properly we used the withdrawal method for 7 years, avoiding dtd around the days when I thought I was fertile. But we had both agreed that if I fell pregnant we'd be happy enough! Grin

Took us over 2 years and three miscarriages to conceive this little baby - I'm 30 weeks today! Grin

But clearly this is not a very reliable method! Congrats op!!!

This is music to my ears Grin
I would love another one. DH won't admit he wants a dc3 but says he'd be happy if we had an accident! I do try to persuade him not to withdraw but no luck so far - am glad there's still hope left though!
Congrats OP Smile

Congrats OP! DH and I will be TTC in the new year (so no big deal if it happens sooner) BUT we used the withdrawal method for 2 years. For the last year we have been combining withdrawal with rhythm (only withdrawing on fertile days but going for it the rest of the time). No babies yet. I really worry that I am not a very fertile person due to past medical history :( a surprise would be a happy surprise for me!!
