2 years 7 months.

We re finding it a great gap atm cos DS1 speaks, walks a long way, feeds himself, is toilet trained in the daytime, plays by himself etc. He is not at all jealous about DS2 using his old cot/pushchair/clothes/toys...

And he adores DS2!

22 months. Always liked it tbh

Oh and now 3 and 4 they are great at playing and get on well.

I know a woman who had twins and got pregnant within 6 weeks so had 3 under 1! huge amount of respect for her! she had to give up work though and the family moved in with her mum and also got some childcare help. they are 3&4 now and she said while at times it's great she does feel she didn't get to enjoy the baby stage enough and maybe missed out on it through the blur.

I have 2 yrs 7 months between my two and will have exactly the same again come January please god. worked out well, DS was independent enough, was able to take him out of the car and know he wouldn't run off while i was getting DD out so that kind of thing helped, he wasold enough to understand to be gentle etc and they are best buds now. DD worships DS and he is very good to her.

A year and 13 days between dd1 and ds1. It wasn't planned that way and was hard at first but I wouldn't change it.

There's 22 months between ds1 and dd2 and 22 months between dd2 and ds2. I preferred the smaller gap in some ways as ds1 was at a demanding age when I had new born dd2 who also needed a lot of attention. On the other hand as ds1 was a bit older there were more things he could do himself that dd1 still needed help with when he was born.

IMO there isn't an ideal age gap as there will always be something that makes it difficult. With ds2 it was needing to have the older two out the door at 8am for school when he was a few weeks old.

20 months, they are now 16&14 and get on so well compared to the larger gaps I had subsequently.

3 years and 4 months between ds1 and ds2. Currently expecting ds3 and all going to plan with be about a 21 month gap. I'm sure it will be hard work at times but I can't wait! Smile Smile Smile Smile

16 months between DS1 & DS2. It was very hard work at first, but got easier as they grew up. They are now 19 & 21 and great friends.

DS2 and DS3 have 11 months between them. It was hard work when they were babies, but brilliant as they got older Smile

lupo5 · 21/10/2014 21:20

I agree little! I was v broody bout 9 months, which would have given an 18 month gap - but I know so many families where that didnt work so well so wanted to avoid that, then waited while we moved... and 3 years has just been so perfect I really do feel its one thing we got right for us. Would def recommend hte age gap!

Mrsgrumble · 21/10/2014 23:19

Soon I will have two with a fifteen month gap .. Oh god, is it too late to back out Grin
