Hi, since they say to avoid unpasteurized fruit juices, does anyone know of the copella orange juice is pasteurized like the apple one? Impossible to find on bottle or online. Thank Smile

I would think all supermarket brand are pasteurised.

That's what I thought but then I read in an article that some aren't Hmm

Read the NHS guide for food you can and can't have. Or rather you are advised not to consume.

The nhs guide doesn't say specific brands...all it says is no unpasteurised juice like the OP has said.

No mention of orange juice being an issue at all on the official NHS guide

Copella lasts for ages in the fridge from my memory, which it wouldn't if unpasteurised/heat treated. I think the guide is referring to pre-prepared, fresh juices which could sit in a fridge in a cafe for a few hours (which to be fair I have had on the odd occasion without even thinking about it) due to {minor} risk of bacterial infection. Packaged stuff like Copella will be fine as it has to last from factory to store to end user.

I have just reread following Gail's post - there is some discussion in the posts under the main guidance. I think this is nothing to worry about... I'm certainly not overly concerned about some (vile) vegetable juice I had a few weeks ago that may or may not have been pasteurised - if I had listeria or another food poisoning bug I'd know by now, and the risk from a 5* graded kitchen are limited.

If it doesn't mention it, it's not a problem. Just don't drink it if your that worried but you'll drive yourself insane with worry if you look for a problem in everything you eat or drink.
