Price of NCT Classes

Can anyone give me an idea of how much their NCT classes are? I was quoted £165 for 4 refresher classes and a meet up after the birth. This includes £40 membership fee. Seems expensive to me but I have not done them for a few years. I am in the South east.

Mine is two Saturdays and one evening session plus a meet up and costs, I think,about £180 which i set up to pay in instalments. I agree it's costly!

Sounds roughly what ours was but the membership element is not obligatory and you can remove it which lowers the cost.

You don't have to pay the membership fee. Mine were £170 plus it automatically added the £40 membership fee, but I opted out of this. They are expensive, but we did find it useful.

That's about the same as round here, though there is a very large discount for being on certain benefits.

Gosh, I'm quite shocked. I was quoted £240 (inc £40 membership) for an Oxfordshire class. I had to turn it down, far too much money in my opinion. It's maddening that prices can vary that much.

Ours was 302 + 40 membership. In London- was very shocked by the cost but decided to pay it as I am new to the area and rather pathetically wanted to use it to meet other new soon to be Mum's rather than learn what I could in the NHS classes for free. I am also attending the NHS pain relief class as I've heard the NCT classes are a bit one sided in their approach to this x

£170 for 17 hours including a meet up in West Yorkshire. I think that's too expensive so some of yours are crazy to me!

I'm in North Yorkshire. The full course cost was £205 but I got a huge discount for being on a low income - I ended up paying £20.50.

We paid £180 for both DH and I to attend (West Yorkshire) this was without membership fee.

It's a lot of money but I'm hoping I gain some much needed mum-to-be friends/acquaintances as well as information through doing the course. Here's hoping Confused

If you're low income ( under 30k a year) you get a massive discount...I paid £18 for all my classes ( 2x 4 hour sessions 4x2 hour sessions)

I think I was quoted about £200 but decided to just use the nhs ones which were fab and the only benefit I would see from nct was they were on a Saturday, but DP was able to get the time off work.

I have made friends from the nhs post natal classes so I don't think nct is essential for that.

Ours was £170 for 5 x 2 hour sessions on Saturday mornings, plus the meetup (London). Then the optional membership fee of £40 on top. This is the Essentials course which has been fine for us - as others have said, was mostly looking at it as a way of meeting other new parents. Not sure we learned anything we couldn't have learned from a book but was good to make us thing/talk about what it would be like after the birth, and DH liked the pracical bits (nappy changing, bathing, etc)

We've paid £240 for 6x 2hr evenings, post baby meet-up and extended membership. Tis expensive but I think it's worth it (based on last time). No NHS classes here so nct or nothing.

Our course is £220 for two full Saturdays and a Tuesday evening session (plus meet up after babies are born) and that includes 12m membership - it is pricey but I'm hoping to meet other mums-to-be in the area through it

No NHS classes here either StrangeGlue, they were scrapped last year. I'm really lucky I was able to get the low income discount otherwise I wouldn't have been able to attend any antenatal classes.
